One of the best movies of the year! Incredible from the beginning to the end.

This is a dark and sometimes deeply uncomfortable drama

This show started out with promise. It was a good compliment to Burn Notice, and was slick and polished. For a while. Then the whole thing turned to mush. The plots became more and more improbable and silly. (i.e. Neal painting forged masterpieces literally overnight. The FBI incapable of catching Matthew Keller who operates unimpeded right under their noses, including Keller kidnapping both Peter Burke AND Elizabeth Burke in different episodes.) And in the process of trying to make Neal look like a Superman Renaissance Man McGyver, capable of painting, sculpting, forging, and fabricating anything out of thin air, they make FBI agent Burke look like a buffoon, incapable of catching a cold. And the whole plot arc with Kate and Neal's total infatuation with her was preposterous. This series probably should have ended years before it actually did. But alas...it dragged on, and dragged itself down. Oh well. Like some other posters have already stated, it's something to watch in the background when there's nothing else on.

A Review WHITE COLLAR TV Series (2009–2014)The way I watch a TV series is to binge watch the entire series at my leisure. You never miss an episode and you can see at any point, if it is worth your time to continue with it. White Collar was worth it. I would have quit it after a few episodes due to the enormous plot holes, tortured twists, conjured timing and all around TV-ness with it's lack of inventive camera work, boring cinematography, etc., but not everyone is as demanding as me. Having said that, the primary reason I was able to see all 81 episodes to the end was chemistry. Matt Bomer, Tim DeKay and Willie Garson worked amazingly well together, each of them at the top of the food chain at what their characters do. Throw in Tiffani Thiessen who sort of ties them all together into one big rogue family and the heart of the cast is complete. Garson keeps it funny and inventive in spite of his total lack of acting ability but the quirky charm he exudes is convincing, and that is enough. It is inventive and complicated enough to hold interest. It's funny, sad, manipulative and has some incite without being too predictable. Ross McCall, a repeating villain, steals the show whenever he pops up to ruin someone's day. I recommend this show to anyone who likes FBI vs brilliant bad guys into high stakes white collar crime that can get very messy, very quickly. GOT Netflix?!!

Having picked the series up on Netflix, i've been able to watch all 6 seasons consecutively. Great series, i love that there are background stories which run over several episodes as well as new stories each episode. The chemistry between the 2 lead actors is brilliant and they each bounce off each other. Overall the series is really good but the last episode is a huge disappointment and spoilt what every other episode had built up to. We are now used to all the twists and turns, the final episode was incredibly predictable, i spent the whole episode hoping the end would be a double bluff with Neal being released through the proper channels, all i thought by the end was what is the point in being free if you are alone. Yes it was an alternative happy ever after, but it should have been the traditional happy ever after.

Funny thing about this show - we stumbled onto it on Netflix, and assumed it was a spin-off from 'Suits', since the setup was so similar (that one also involves a con man working with a lawyer), and the lead actors resemble each other somewhat. Then we realized the shows ran concurrently - so, we were pleasantly surprised.Anyway, you can catch all the seasons on Netflix. Performances are excellent, particularly by Matt Bomer, with great work by Tim Dekay and all the supporting cast. The writing is first-class, non-clichéd, with story overlaps, continuations and cliff-hangers galore. The last season was a short one, as the Network abruptly decided not to continue, which is a shame, since I think the writers still had lots of momentum. But I guess every roller coaster at the kiddies' park has to shut down at the end of the day. Aw well, I see that 'Suits' is still going strong - it might prove to be an adequate 'fix' for us as we go through 'White Collar' withdrawal!
