Tripping Over is a British/Australian six-part drama series. Its first episode aired on Network Ten in Australia on 25 October 2006, and in the United Kingdom on Five on 30 October 2006. In the UK Tripping Over is repeated on Five Life. The show is about three friends in London and two friends in Sydney, neither group knows each other but their parents do. They both take flights to each other's countries, and the two groups meet at the stop-over in Bangkok, where a tragic event changes their lives. The series then follows the two groups of friends as they continue on their trips to each other's countries and back home. The programme focuses on the major life changes that occur during the mid-twenties, and how choices made here can affect a person's life for many years to come.

Tripping Over Audience Reviews

Karry Best movie of this year hands down!
Matcollis This Movie Can Only Be Described With One Word.
Ariella Broughton It is neither dumb nor smart enough to be fun, and spends way too much time with its boring human characters.
Ginger Very good movie overall, highly recommended. Most of the negative reviews don't have any merit and are all pollitically based. Give this movie a chance at least, and it might give you a different perspective.
Yertle_The_Turtle Tripping Over. I must say at first I was a little disappointed in the first few episodes, but having faith in the show, and Abe Forsythe's unquestionable talent, I continued to watch. I can safely say I'm now glad that I did. The story did develop quite well, and all the characters have a strong base, and most don't have any information missing. The only thing I can fault in this production is the somewhat annoying voice and pronunciation possessed by the character Lizzie. Some good acting coupled with a stellar plot really gets this show over the line. Here's to hoping for another season!
stayrighteous A fine effort for an Australian show. which is probably not surprising seeing as there seems to be somewhat of a resurgence in quality Aussie drama. dare i compare this show to the brilliance of love my way? no. but it is reminiscent of early secret life of us. the cast is great, gibney works her magic in the first two episodes i have seen, the British cast is strong also especially the callum and lizzie characters. but abe forsythe may be the saving light (not that it needs saving) if this show is to get another season. i wasn't a fan of his performance in the awesomely awesome marking time mini series a few years back but he was great as hal in always greener. its also good to see brooke satchwell again. lets hope the show keeps improving with each episode.
vetty_voop Finally we get a TV series where we get to see the acting talent! Episode one was excellent! The script gave us a little more than usual, yeah, there was still the "i'm not your father -i'm your father and omigod you cheated on me!" rubbish but the script allowed the actors to actually feel and live those real moments rather than show us what it would feel like if -like so many TV soaps do. The camera work also gave us a little more than usual, there were no boring shots of repeated angles for hours yet there was no unnecessary 'shots inside shots or hand-held camera crap' to add an "artistic" edge it gave us what we needed to see and also some beautiful scenery pictures as well! Nothing was over-dramatised or melodramatic they were real people in a real place dealing with real situations, the show lacked nothing in drama and was completely relevant. It was SUCH a relief to be exposed to real acting and so nice to let our country see just how talented our actors can be when given a real script, a real opportunity! Thank you Tony Tilse, Sam Miller, channel ten and all cast and crew -wonderful work!! please continue what you are doing, your efforts are much appreciated and do not go unnoticed!
jessica_6089 Tripping Over, a news drama series just aired in Australia. Comprising from some great Aussie actors including, Rebecca Gibney, Lisa McCune, Abe Forsythe, Daniel MacPherson and Brooke Satchwell. This series is interweaving story lines connecting with characters in Australia and London. Kicking it off with the death of Tamsin's (Alexandra Moen) mother, five 20 something people Tamsin, Ned, Nic, Lizzie & Callum hook up for a mini holiday in Thailand before travelling onto other destinations. Ned (MacPherson) is a former soap star of fictional "Next Door" trying to make it big on the London scene. Nic's (Forsythe) reason for London is his girlfriend (Satchwell). Lizzie a travel agent is travelling the world with boyfriend Callum before returning home to marry. Tamsin's on her way to Australia due to her mother's dying wish. The first episode was certainly eventful with a boat that most characters are on blows up and all dive into the water to survive the blast. Callum comes out to his girlfriend Lizzie, and they break up. Tamsin and Nic hook up due to upsetting nature of the boat blast. Ned spends most of the episode on the toilet after eating dodgy noodles. Parents are also involved with the plot, Ned's Dad (who we discover is not his Dad after all) is trying to adopt with his younger wife (McCune), and Ned's Mum, a restaurateur (Gibney) has a minor role so far, but should increase with the discovery of Ned's non-Dad. Ep 2- a lot less eventful, but still chaotic. Ned gets told his Dad, is not his. And guess what? It turns out to be his uncle! Lizzie's having visions of the man who died in Thailand, Tamsin decides to stay in Sydney after finally working up to telling Sam about Nic, only for him to be asleep (how convenient!!!) Nic starts working in London as a teacher and has sex with a stranger on top of a car. And Callum becomes a party animal to escape his pain of losing his lover in Thailand. After watching two episodes, I really don't think its worth watching. It's definitely a shame with the effort they would have put in with the international filming and all. And even if I do watch it again, it's only because House went to the season final.
