SERIOUSLY. This is what the crap Hollywood still puts out?

Plot so thin, it passes unnoticed.

The film creates a perfect balance between action and depth of basic needs, in the midst of an infertile atmosphere.

Excellent characters with emotional depth. My wife, daughter and granddaughter all enjoyed it...and me, too! Very good movie! You won't be disappointed.

The new THUNDERBIRDS ARE GO is an excellent return. Yes International Rescue have morphed, no longer have strings and jockey around more than they used to. Yes on rare occasion the pacing and/or edits are a bit off. BUT more often than not the pacing is BANG ON! And the show has been getting better and better with each episode. Better, deeper characterisation, humanity, humour, wit and storytelling.Characters = Excellent. Vehicles = Awesome. Story Telling = Just gets better & better. Parker = All the original Magic and more Grey Ninja! Virgil = Gotta love the Lumberjack shirt! Grandma = Brilliant You Cookie! Production = Excellent and improving all the time.As an 'Avid Anderson' it is an enormous pleasure to see the THUNDERBIRDS are back with such vigour. In sometimes difficult, cynical, and depressing times, it is also great to see the ideas, outlook and invention of the 60's 'original' updated with such love, innovation and attention to detail. Rare, Brilliant, Classic Stuff!!!

Having grown up with vivid memories of repeat broadcasts the original Thunderbirds series, I am fully aware that I am too old to be the target audience for this new series, but I must confess that I don't much care for the new version. The casting is unmemorable- apart from the absolutely awful new Lady Penelope voiced by Rosamund Pike. Pike seems utterly bored and makes no attempt to invest the character with any personality or life. The music is mediocre, and it speaks volumes when the use of a piece of music from the 60s version is the highlight of one of the new episodes.Effects are passable, although the combination of CGI with occasional bits of modelwork seems a little clunky. I do like the design of the slightly reworked Thunderbirds vehicles. Not all changes seem so well thought. Brains has now changed race for no discernible reason. The short running time is a demerit for the new series. Plots are too linear, too simplistic. There is little characterisation.Sadly the tension and drama that the old Thunderbirds sometimes captured is completely absent from the new version.

This comment is not meant to be a racial slur on the person who plays the voice of brains but I grew up watching the original series just like Richard Taylor from Weta workshops who said he was going to get as close as possible to the original, well the original Brains didn't have an Indian accent and he had a stutter (the stutter was even reproduced in the movie version played by Anthony Edwards)Why oh why did they have to get rid of the name Tin Tin, I realize that was just an alternative name and her real name was Tanusha "kayo" Kyrano but Tin Tin was what she was always called even by her parents.Lastly where is The father Jeff Tracey ?? Have they retired him because John is no longer in school ?I feel these are critical errors for die hard fans like myself. Richard Taylor also said that he had full approval from the creators to do this series in cgi format, he also stated that he wanted it done in cgi because it would make the characters be able to do things like abseiling down a cliff which was hard to recreate in the puppet version. Maybe I just need to get with the times, but when you promise to get it as close to the original as possible then I feel you should honor that promise.Episode 4 has just played in New Zealand and to be honest I'm forcing myself to watch it in the hope I'll start to enjoy it but so far that's not happening.

Honestly, my expectations wasn't too high, not too low as well. Specially with CGI, the spirit of the original TV-series is missing. Anyway, to be honest, this 2015's release is OK. That's not the disaster that I expected. And to be frank, that's a serious uplifting from the original, in a proper good way. Thanks to the producer, everything is in the show: music, characters, vessels, everything in a 2015's upgrade. My only concern is everything goes too fast. The rescue, that kept us in a thrill for 40 minutes, is away in about few minutes... The thrill is away, and the 'childish' side also. But I will be in tune for the next episode, that's for sure. This first 2 episodes was a pilot, and the real missions/episodes aren't set.
