The Shannara Chronicles Audience Reviews

Matialth Good concept, poorly executed.
Lumsdal Good , But It Is Overrated By Some
ChampDavSlim The acting is good, and the firecracker script has some excellent ideas.
Billie Morin This movie feels like it was made purely to piss off people who want good shows
Loveunderlaw This is very much like a poor man's LOTR. Great characters for an MTV production, I'm pretty impressed. But the constant demon bashing got under my skin though, I'm sorry but all of the wrongs in their little make believe World & in our reality too can't be blamed on the demons\dark side over & over. For a LHP adept like me it gets really old after a while, how about just using evil creatures instead of blaming the demons for all that is bad in the World ?!The angels always ignored me when I was young too, so did the cruel & evil Abrahamic "God". When I need help from Master Lucifer & the demons, it's always within the hour, (in an emergency even sooner). How in good conscience can I agree with a MTV produced show that portrays my "people" as evil ?!Other than that bone to pick, it's a great show IMO. Just please try to be more neutral in the future though MTV, not everyone is Yang\Solar in nature you know. Some of us just happen to be Yin\Lunar in nature, it's not evil to be dark OK! For some of us, we just prefer the darkness more than the day:) Awesome special F\X, but not the storyline that much. Remember a great many of us were preyed upon in our churches, mosques, & synagogues too sadly when we were children:(
toddcha I watched both seasons on Netflix and the 2nd season comes too late so I reviewed the last few episodes of the 1st season then starts my enjoyment of season 2. I have to say the ending of season 1 is not bad: it gives a reasonable ending and some trails for the 2nd season. Though some acting horribly weak but still bearable (compared to the ShadowHunter, which can't be any worse). Some acting in the 2nd season is may better than the 1st season: Will, Ander the King, and Amberle. The three of them have one thing in common in the 1st season: soft and weak. See the battle scenes then you will see how soft they use a sward to stab enemies. Eretria still performs well in the 2nd season, which now I understand why this role keeps alive in the 2nd episode instead of the princess Amberle. Another thing makes me give a thumb up is the visual effect which is though widely used but I don't sense a slight feeling of cheapness because of small budget drama. HOWEVER, good time doesnt long last. The story is way too easily predicted based on Will's personality and some other characters' changes. Episode 6 gives a blur direction and result. Episode 9 says more. The writer must reinforce Will's character along with Mareth's otherwise the whole drama will become another cliche with fantasy visual effect. What a waste. Another thing that I hate about Will is he keeps saying we have no time to waste but he IS the one wasting time for searching himself, whining about how unfit he is for The One and holding eerily amiable standards. The blizzard conflict can be seen everywhere: he wants Allanon suffer in the magic case where Banden is let out from and he believes he can protect Banden from getting the Warlock's skull while he can get his uncle cured bt Banden? What a joke is that? Either too naive or stupid and cooky.
nelson-pip I have to say I enjoy this show more than the books. It has a strong following and the only complaint is a indecisive use of modern American slang and fantasy formal language. I hope this gets picked up for a 3rd season by SyFy channel. I ran across this on netflix and do not watch MTV or Spike, I think with a proper home this would build as a long term popular show. The female characters are interesting and powerful which is unusual in fantasy with Male characters
nexx-43314 I've never read any books. I liked the first Season. It wasn't the best I've ever seen but I liked the actors and it reminded me of low budget fantasy series from the 90ties. The story was actually interesting, I loved the connection between modern world and fantasy world and it ended with suspense so I was really interested what was going to happen in Season2. Unfortunately Season2 obviously got passed to another network, it took 100 years to make and when it started it sucked. The plot was dragging all over the place, the acting got worse and had many copy-paste story elements from you're typical low budget series. Everything was so predictable and unbelievable. So yeah, Season1 is watchable, skip Season2.
