Wow! Such a good movie.

Instead, you get a movie that's enjoyable enough, but leaves you feeling like it could have been much, much more.

When a movie has you begging for it to end not even half way through it's pure crap. We've all seen this movie and this characters millions of times, nothing new in it. Don't waste your time.

"The Orville" is a great looking show. The special effects, costumes and sets look great...much like you'd expect to see from a "Star Trek"-style series. Unfortunately, a show is not all effects and cosmetics...and when it comes to the writing I can assume you'll either love it or hate it. Specifically, if you have longed for a cruder version of "Star Trek"--with plenty of sex and wiener references (I use the word 'wiener' because IMDB standards probably won't let me use other words for a male organ). To me, it seemed like a real shame when I watched a few episodes. I love the Trek world and even go so far as attending some Trek conventions....and so I really WANTED to love the show. Instead, however, as I watched I felt like I had to keep apologizing to my family as they walked in and heard the crudities which are common in the show. And, after a while, I felt like I'd had enough. I do not want "Family Guy" merged with "Star Trek", but that is, essentially, what you have.My wife and I talked about the show after she watched some of the program with me. I think she summed it up well..."nothing about the show seemed original...except that it was very crude". That, to me, is why I don't like the show....as so much seems like an old "Star Trek" episode but inferior in just about every way.

A vanity project, surely. The terribly tedious Seth Macfarlane writes and casts himself as the Captain Kirk character - only the gag is that it's Kirk/Picard/Janeway's ex-partner that's the First Officer on a third-class starship crewed by a selection of completely predictable androids/aliens/adolescents. And that IS the only gag. Dreadful CGI, atrocious costume design, and laboured writing. If there was straight-to-DVD for TV, this would be it.If you enjoy this, you have brain damage.

The Orville is a nice show to watch. It's fun, exciting, and has some really great moments throughout the series. The first few episodes of the season were average, with immature feeling humor and no real sense of what the show even was, but after The Orville reaches it's halfway point, the writers and directors really begin to hit their stride. My favorite episodes are About a Girl, Majority Rule, Cupid's Dagger, and New Dimensions (which is quite visually stunning). My only complaint is that episodes like Krill and Mad Idolatry are blatantly anti-religion and are too preachy, often misrepresenting the subject they are trying to criticize.I'll give The Orville a 7 out of 10 because it's fun to watch and because it has lots of potential.

.....................Then episode 3 happened, with it's veiled attacks on the male gender, heterosexuality and putting those wonderful females on a pedestal whilst the men are portrayed as clueless dumb idiots (Yet again). It seems to me there is an agenda being forced onto the unsuspecting audience and judging by the reviews all over IMDB people are slowly waking up to this anti male, anti heterosexual feminisation bile that's being rammed down our throats. The show isn't funny, the plots just preach political correctness and the acting is just awful. There are better shows out there, Seth Macfarlane I thought you were better than this.
