It's easily one of the freshest, sharpest and most enjoyable films of this year.

The film may be flawed, but its message is not.

One of the film's great tricks is that, for a time, you think it will go down a rabbit hole of unrealistic glorification.

It's not the best show but it really shows how life is in such a "civilized" country. He's a humble man that pays back what he takes. I love all these butt-hurt kids that wouldn't last a day in his shoes (or bare feet) that give him a negative rating because they can't understand life isn't like their life in a sheltered white suburb. His way of life is not as easy or spoon fed as most people that reviewed and that's why they gave it negative reviews : they can't relate. This is a part of the country that takes brains and brawn to live in. If I was lost in a swamp, i'd hope to come across a man like Shelby. Also I love the kid talking about GUN HAPPY. Hey, kiddo, you need a gun to survive in that part of the country. Enjoy fighting an alligator without a weapon you dope smoking hippie. All in all, it's a story of a humble man that lives in the swamp and pays back everyone he ever asks help from. He might be silly and goofy but deep inside he has more knowledge of survival then all the reviewers put together.

from the crazy river logger from the show Axe Men, here is Shelby to show you what he does on his off time from his normal business ( which is logging on Louisiana rivers) . If you like having a good laugh this is a show for you. I would say similar to the same premise as Duck Dynasty, its puts a what you would seem like a normal man( from the Axe Men show, he just a river logger) into some questionable positions, that are comedic and fun to watch. But I would say, him on Axe Men is funnier, but that just better editing I guess. I would have to say, its not for anyone looking for a "educational show" on the History channel, but if you are looking to see how a man, lives in the swamp on a house boat, and somehow makes time to have a good time. then this has to be watched.

Seriously a TERRIBLE show. It belongs on TLC with Honey Boo Boo, not on History. It's disgusting and it's stupid. It's also a waste of a time slot that could be used for a show people actually want to watch like Ancient Aliens or Pawn Stars or really any other History or H2 show. What History is there in watching a man go through a swamp flinging snakes? Or washing his butt on a freaking hose pipe? Or running through a mall with no shoes? I don't know why anyone would watch this. It is a stupid show. It makes no sense why it's on History. I know that most of the shows on the History Channel aren't exactly history, but at least Pawn Stars and American Pickers have people come in and explain the history of the items and don't gross me out.

I watched 5 of the episodes not because i liked them but because i wanted to know about it better so that i could give an accurate review. Sadly 1/10 is the lowest i can give it. This show is one of the worst i have seen. It shows an overly gun happy, uneducated "swamp man". I have seen a lot of pointless TV shows but as far as i am concerned "Legend of Shelby the swamp man" is the worst on i have seen in my life. I mean is shelby short for Shelber or shelbiniro or shelbina. I don't know why the History channel would even run this show it seems more fit for TrueTv. I feel that this show gives and inaccurate description and image to the people that live in the swamps or around it.
