Info

The Early Show is an American morning television show which was broadcast by CBS from New York City from 1999 to 2012. The program aired live from 7 to 9 a.m. Eastern Time Monday through Friday in the Eastern time zone; most affiliates in the Central, Mountain, and Pacific time zones aired the show on tape-delay from 7 to 9 a.m. local time. The Saturday edition aired live from 7 to 9 a.m. Eastern Time as well, but a number of affiliates did not carry it or aired it later on tape-delay. It premiered on November 1, 1999, and was the newest of the major networks' morning shows, although CBS has made several attempts to program in the morning slot since 1954. The show aired as a division of CBS News. The Early Show, like many of its predecessors, traditionally ran last in the ratings to its rivals, NBC's Today and ABC's Good Morning America. Much like NBC's The Today Show and The Tonight Show, the title The Early Show was analogous to that of CBS's late-night talk show, The Late Show. On November 15, 2011, CBS announced that a new morning show would replace The Early Show on January 9, 2012. CBS News chairman Jeff Fager and CBS News president David Rhodes stated that the new show would "redefine the morning television landscape." On December 1, it was announced that the new show would be titled CBS This Morning. The Early Show ended its twelve-year run on January 6, 2012, to make way for the program. Charlie Rose, Gayle King, and Erica Hill were named anchors of the new program.

The Early Show Audience Reviews

UnowPriceless hyped garbage
Connianatu How wonderful it is to see this fine actress carry a film and carry it so beautifully.
Dirtylogy It's funny, it's tense, it features two great performances from two actors and the director expertly creates a web of odd tension where you actually don't know what is happening for the majority of the run time.
Justin Easton There are moments in this movie where the great movie it could've been peek out... They're fleeting, here, but they're worth savoring, and they happen often enough to make it worth your while.
sparx21 It just disgusts me to see this guy on TV. Does he have an unbreakable contract? Is he blackmailing the president of CBS? He is so OBESE that his belly hangs down below his jacket. It is GROSS to see him try and maneuver around and interact with people. It is gross to watch him do ANYTHING on TV. What offends me is that if he were a woman, there's no way he'd even be on that show - he'd have been booted in a NY minute. What a double standard!!! He's not even that good nor interesting... WHY, WHY, WHY is he still on that show? He's the reason I watch everything BUT CBS on the weekend! Ira Joe Fisher is one gross person and it's time he quit inflicting himself on innocent viewers!
trentj101 I have to disagree with a user comment that this show is the show to watch if you want news in detail. Absolutely not! There is a war in Iraq, there is serious geopolitical issues that affect Americans that is taking place right now, not to mention the ever escalating domestic issues and show after show, The Early Show fails to deliver. Instead of exploring these events in detail by interviewing experts, and talking to pundits, maybe even throwing 2 people with opposing ideas for a rational debate, they put a fluff piece about woman's fall fashions. What?!? Okay, okay maybe that's fine. But there is no interruption in the constant mindless drivel that they pass off as news. Oh sure, they mention Iraq, but briefly and if you missed it when they did, too bad because The Early Show will not expand. I have seen Saturday morning cartoons that have been more informative than this show.
godiva280 I would greatly appreciate some updated information on this program. There are some new BIOS that need to be added. Russ Mitchell and Ira Joe Fisher from the Saturday Early Show need to be added. TheEarly Show is the best morning show on television right now. I hate how it never gets the attention from the media outlets that it should. I personally love Hanna Storm and I think Ira Joe Fisher is one of the best personalities on TV today!! You need to see this guys at work on Plexyglass 2000. Ira Joe writes backboards! My 3 year old son gets such a kick out of it. I also think the Chef on a shoestring segment is very clever on The Saturday Early Show! I was very sorry to see Gretchen Carlson leave the show and go the Fox News. I hope whoever takes over for her is as good as her.
Movie Nuttball I think that this is a great show for all kinds of information including the current news stories, past news stories, the weather, local news, and more. They have celebrity guests and the people that are in the news as guests so they can tell their stories on the show. During the week the show is hosted by Julie Chen, Harry Smith, Hannah Storm, and Dave Price. On the Saturday Early Show the hosts are Gretchen Carlson and Russ Mitchell. All of these hosts in My opinion are very talented. What I like about the show is that the hosts go into many details in the news and such. So if you are watching television early in the morning and want to watch the news in detail then I suggest that you watch The early Show today!
