Raymond "Red" Reddington, one of the FBI's most wanted fugitives, surrenders in person at FBI Headquarters in Washington, D.C. He claims that he and the FBI have the same interests: bringing down dangerous criminals and terrorists. In the last two decades, he's made a list of criminals and terrorists that matter the most but the FBI cannot find because it does not know they exist. Reddington calls this "The Blacklist". Reddington will co-operate, but insists that he will speak only to Elizabeth Keen, a rookie FBI profiler.

The Blacklist Audience Reviews

SpuffyWeb Sadly Over-hyped
Tyreece Hulme One of the best movies of the year! Incredible from the beginning to the end.
Cassandra Story: It's very simple but honestly that is fine.
Scarlet The film never slows down or bores, plunging from one harrowing sequence to the next.
princeofsirsia What an interesting show!!!! .The show is about a most wanted criminal Raymond Raddington who surrenders to FBI and comes to terms to help them catch the most notorious criminals of the world for immunity. He also only wants to work with Elizabeth Keen with her he thinks that both would make a 'great team'. James Spader nails the character of Raymond Raddington. Megan Boon also justifies her role as Elizabeth. Kiefer Sutherland was offered the role of Raddington but Spader took over the role just three days before the shooting of show and I am very glad that he accepted the role. After watching the pilot his portrayal of Raddington's character reminded me of Dr. Hannibal lactor's character from silence of the lambs.
graduatedan I don't like police procedurals. I mean, I like the procedural part of the show, but most times, I dislike the characters who populate these dramas. They tend to be unsympathetic, dispassionate martinets who see the world in black and white and either punch or shoot their way through an episode. I make this admission in order to give weight to my admiration for the Blacklist, which most certainly is a police procedural, but is so much more than that. I'm kept alertly amused by the byzantine twists and turns of the plots. I genuinely like the characters in this programme, even Donald Ressler who comes closest to the stereotypical punch and shoot fellows I mentioned earlier. Of all the characters in the show, he's the one that has evolved the most over the last five years . The real beauty of the show lies in its careful examination of the nature of morality, exemplified, of course in Raymond Reddington. Reddington is a criminal and a killer, but is capable of great kindness. That dichotomy is the meat of the blacklist. How can we empathize with such a man? How, indeed. In this case, his love for Elizabeth Keen and his willingness to give the FBI team information that puts bad people away puts a human face to his frequently monstrous behaviour. In the end, bad guys are caught and we learn a little more about the enduring mystery of Ramond Reddington. This is a gripping, well written, well acted drama that I look forward to seeing each week.
mladnaua If the goal was to create an absolutely disgusting character - self-centered, self-righteous, self-absorbed, brainless, insincere, hypocritical, deceptive, and robot-like, I have to applaud the effort. Because it's my first review ever, which I just couldn't not write because of "Lizzie". Can somebody tell the "actress", that there are more than two emotions? That crying and indignation do not even come close to covering everything a person, who is at least alive, and not necessarily and actor, is capable of feeling? It is almost painful to see how she runs around blaming others for "bad" things, while she doesn't even feel guilty when an innocent person dies because of her plot. No remorse, no sadness, no regret, no nothing! Really? Only after everyone around tells her it's not something to be proud of, she makes an attempt to "make amends", at somebody else's expense of course. In fact, existing at someone else's expense without a hint of gratitude seems to be her natural state. One minute, full of indignation she tells Red "I will handle it myself" and next minute she is talking to her fake husband, whom she abhors, asking for help. Really?! Myself? The word is getting a totally new meaning now. Oh, and every time she does it, she finds a way to tell people how bad they really are, and how totally wonderful she is. I could go on for a long time, because it hurts to even see how mature judges, KGB agents, and other men of power shrink in front of this inexperienced, unintelligent, immature, incompetent, needy, and shameless manipulator. If you can ignore this, as well as an inexplicable need of others to "protect" her, while getting nothing in return, not even warmth and gratitude, you can watch this series. Red is really the only person, who knows what acting is, and has some human qualities.
yetigirl-51247 Best show everrrrrrr. I love Red he his hilarious and possibly the best character in any show ever!!
