Sonic the Hedgehog Audience Reviews

ScoobyWell Great visuals, story delivers no surprises
Whitech It is not only a funny movie, but it allows a great amount of joy for anyone who watches it.
Mehdi Hoffman There's a more than satisfactory amount of boom-boom in the movie's trim running time.
Frances Chung Through painfully honest and emotional moments, the movie becomes irresistibly relatable
donovanmcrale Definitely a show worth watching, simply awesome and... dare I say it... radical.
billosaurus This is probably one of the greatest adaptations of a video game, as it fleshes out the simple characters from the Sega games. Sonic is now a cunning, brave, and caring warrior, liberating his planet from a tyrant, and having the odds placed against him. Granted, sonic himself can be a little too obnoxious at times, and he can also be a bit dopey. But generally he is likable and still a good role model. Sally acorn is also an excellent character, being mature, caring leader with a tortured past, and despite being a nudist, she is very dignified, granted she can be a bit too perfect at times, which makes her a bit of a Mary sue. Tails, sadly, is not the genius he is in the games, but is instead a sonic fan-boy, and he has a very small role in the show. tails fans will probably not enjoy this show. Sadly, Antoine is the worst aspect to this show. He is actually worse than jar jar, being useless and cowardly. At least jar jar was brave at times. But Antoine is a horribly pathetic french stereotype and womaniser towards sally. The other characters are nice, if one dimensional. Rotor is the nerdy mechanic. Bunny is the Texan girl. Dulcy is the dumb muscle accept she is female. Snively is the generic villains lackey. A great element to this show is it's take on Dr Robotnik. Unlike the clown-like madman from the games, this bone-chilling tyrant has complete control, ruling much of the planet. He is a brilliant antagonist, surprisingly cruel and dark.
anthony-rigoni At long last, I have found a TV series that is way better than that god-awful Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog. What makes this well-known TV series better than the Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog? 1) The actors. Okay, Jaleel White still plays Sonic the Hedgehog, but at least he had a lot of fun and effort in it. You also get Christine Cavanaugh(From the Rugrats) as the karate-chopping Bunnie Rabbot, Jim Cummings(From Goof Troop) as the evil Doctor Eggman, Kath Soucie(Also from the Rugrats) as the beautiful Princess Sally Acorn, and Charlie Adler(From the Pound Puppies TV Special and Tiny Toon Adventures) as Dr. Eggman's nephew, Snively. 2) The animation. Effort! Honest to goodness effort! And the artwork is magnificent! 3) The plot. In Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog, the plot has never, ever made any sense. In this show, it is very much related to the comic book series. Oh yeah, the plot has gotten better in this series. I wish this TV series would come back on TV. I want to see a lot more episodes adapted from the comic book series. Only in Anime style.
kinetsmac What I am about to say has absolutely NOTHING to do with the fact that I'm extremely nostalgic about this gem of a cartoon. This one of the greatest children's shows ever aired.I was five years old when it premiered, and the moment I saw it on my grandfathers television, I was hooked. It was the perfect balance of dark and comical; Jaleel White (a.k.a. Urkel) as the blue blur himself was a delight to behold and listen, able to convincingly shift from corny sarcasm to painful conviction, all within the safe boundaries of a childs understanding, allowing both older and younger audiences to love the show. Heck, me and my mother watched it every Saturday, making Sonic a sort of family staple for me.What makes this show so special, more than anything else I believe, is that it follows next to NOTHING from the Sega brand video game its based on. Most of the memorable cast were made up just for the show, and its very interesting how deeply intertwined these American brand characters have been placed into the franchise. Instead of a lame video game ripoff plot (Cough, Sonic X, Cough) this show actually has a deep, even RISKY, storyline, dabbling in incredibly dark themes like loss of family, enslavement, brainwash, betrayal, and assassination. Dr. Robotnick is nothing like any cartoon villain that has been seen for quite a while, and is above and beyond any of his recent incarnations in the games or other franchises. Like the Joker from Batman the Animated series, the bad doctor is truly intimidating, controlling the planet Mobius with a, literally, iron fist, wrenching families apart and transforming them into brainless automatons with a Nazi-esq. motivation. Its sad that this series was cut short past its forceable prime, and that all the sonic shows since have so greatly paled in comparison. In a post 9/11 world, studio execs feel the need to constantly neuter even the slightest bit of darkness or intelligence out of anything animated. While the reasons for this are justifiable, early Ninties shows like Sonic SatAM are proof that the balance is possible, and should definitely be reinstated.
