Shut Eye Audience Reviews

Tetrady not as good as all the hype
Rio Hayward All of these films share one commonality, that being a kind of emotional center that humanizes a cast of monsters.
Jakoba True to its essence, the characters remain on the same line and manage to entertain the viewer, each highlighting their own distinctive qualities or touches.
Haven Kaycee It is encouraging that the film ends so strongly.Otherwise, it wouldn't have been a particularly memorable film
sirkjeff I was trying to think how to tell a good friend about the show. I could not explain what show main theme is. Its that good. Well written and just when you feel you know the ending of the storyline . it goes into another storyline that is even better.
escctrlshift I'm frankly surprised -- seven episodes of viewing into the first season -- that I like this show as much as I do. It's a great binge watch for starters. It's not hard to keep track of the action. But the themes and characters that have emerged so far are intriguing -- and not, for the most part, very stereotypical. This is a very talented, and very interesting-looking, cast. The Roma-themed plot provides an excellent super-text for the main protagonist's unfolding experience of his extraordinary gift. The evil characters -- especially Isabella Rossellini's -- are only partial foils, and hers may yet be not as nasty as she looks. Every character, even the ostensible 'saint' among them, has some damning faults, not a few of them extremely damning. So altogether, this makes for great drama, interesting synchromagic (invoked, no doubt, with some backroom help from LA's Roma community), and powerful food for thought, for anyone who is 'gifted' or living with a spooky, or otherwise scrambled, brain.
Undisclosed I just finished watching the last episode and had to create an IMDb account just to review this show. I'm appalled by the fact that it only got 7.5 rating on this site. It started off fun, but it was clear that it was headed in a more deeper direction. The acting is extremely well done, specially by Fanzo played by Angus Sampson. My god, his fashion expressions are on a whole new level of quality. Even-though I loved him in Fargo, I feel that his acting was even better in Shut eye. He fit the role perfectly from the start. Also I found the build up to the last episode was truly worth waiting for. Such a lovely little mind bender, leaving you wanting a second season. If you're into shows that involve scheming, manipulation/mind games then you'll really dig this one. Overall the show deserves a much better rating and I highly recommend it.
kristataylor-44436 I waited for this show to come out after seeing some advertisements. I thought it was going to be awesome. However, after the first episode was only slightly interesting, and the second was a little less interesting, and then I turned into a mind reader myself and could have practically written the show myself. Overall it was highly predictable, the characters were shady and tragically stupid, and most of the "shock value" was shocking, but not for the right reasons. Its an okay show to put in the background and just pass your time with. Wouldn't recommend more time put into it that that.Shut eye is basically this giant fudge pile of wanting to be other shows, but with psychics instead.
