Too much of everything

Let's be realistic.

The film never slows down or bores, plunging from one harrowing sequence to the next.

what a terribly boring film. I'm sorry but this is absolutely not deserving of best picture and will be forgotten quickly. Entertaining and engaging cinema? No. Nothing performances with flat faces and mistaking silence for subtlety.

Very well acted. Jon Voight Is completely amazing in this role. Amazing to see him still going so strong.
Liev Schreiber is so believable in this role, but the whole cast pulls this together.
This family's story is always rolling forward with never a dull moment.
Truly Awesome!
My wife and I are hooked till the end of this ride.

The first season was good, the2nd season ok, the 3rd season had a few good moments.. but the 4th season is basic. I swear that the whole script is just a over and over of Ray on the phone saying to the different characters " JUST GET IT DONE".. every character was reduced to nothing in this season.. they start this stupid war against the armenians, that obsly they should ve lost, but aparently the armenians decided to be a mafia of only 8 people seating in a room getting fooled by Mickey donovan...
Bridgets character is the worse.. and also Abby.. its a nonsense rollercoaster with this two... all the petty arguments.. the other son simply dissapeared in the background..
To be honest this show could be a Entourage meets sopranos but it ended up a soap opera... Dont forget in the 3rd season when abby and terry almost started having an affair.. wtf was that... Just a mess.. a whole messI had high hopes for this one, but by season 4 episode 8 I gave up..I give 5 for the acting, because the actors did a good job, but what can the actors do with little to no plot and no decent lines...The 1st season was very good and worth watching tho

There has always been the odd slow part to the Ray Donovan Series', and I have enjoyed them all.
But Series 5 is real hard work. Flashbacks, criss-crossed storylines - for ALL characters, not just the obvious, make it very hard work.
There are even flashbacks in the flashbacks, and whole episodes of flashbacks showing what was revealed in the previous episode - Bizarre!
They really could have dealt with the main storyline in the first two episodes and developed the mystery over the net 10.
Don't know if they have tried to be too clever, or if they just ran out of ideas. I guess only time and season 6 wil tell, but it could be the end of a great series, which maybe should have been halted after Season 4!
