Watch something else. There are very few redeeming qualities to this film.

Excellent characters with emotional depth. My wife, daughter and granddaughter all enjoyed it...and me, too! Very good movie! You won't be disappointed.

One of the worst ways to make a cult movie is to set out to make a cult movie.

This movie feels like it was made purely to piss off people who want good shows

I admit, I was scared by this show when I was 9 and it premiered, but I've been able to look past all the scary stuff from this show. When you're 14 it looks funnier to see murder victims talk while still in their damaged condition...most of the time. I love this show more than Dead Like Me because the characters are more interesting and likable and Pushing Daises is also still a sweet show at its core, even though it isn't as kid-friendly as it first appears. Also, there are no Gravelings that could be moving things or reaper ghost people any time someone dies onscreen, so this likely isn't the same universe even though the Happy Time Temp Agency was mentioned in this show. Or if Dead Like Me really is in the same universe as Bryan Fuller's other 3 shows, the Gravelings and reapers seem to be limited exclusively to the location of Dead Like Me in Seatte/Vancouver. The best part is that even though there are consequences for reviving the dead that you need to carefully consider if you are Ned and want to keep somebody alive, there doesn't seem to be any consequences for saving somebody from dying in the first place like Dead Like Me had, such as the "hunting spree" or a soul rotting in a survivor of their time to die, but what if a soul trapped in its dead body rotted before it could be taken late? I love Ned and Chuck and also sometimes Emerson and Olive are funny too.

If you're familiar with Bryan Fuller's work ("Wonderfalls", "Dead Like Me", and probably the only decent bits of "Heroes", which was otherwise less than stellar), you'll probably like this. It has many of his usual tropes: strong-minded female characters (although this time around, he main character is male), at least one female character with a male nickname, dark humor, and an element of the paranormal.Be warned, though: more so than any other series he's worked on, this one purposefully goes over the top with its style. Justifiably described as a "forensic fairytale", the colors are vibrant and lush, the names and places whimsical, and the humor dry and offbeat - with the occasional bonus of a musical number courtesy of Kristin Chenowith, as Olive. In the end, maybe that's why "Pushing Daisies" didn't make it. In spite of the dark humor and semi-morbid subject matter, there's a much bigger sense of hopefulness and joy at work here, and under that candy-coated exterior, a surprising amount of depth. But you have to be willing to look for it a little - so if you have a short attention span or are otherwise fairly cynical and enjoy things like watching other people fail, you'll hate this series. Go watch one of the many horrible and formulaic reality TV shows that are unfortunately still out there.Luckily, the rest of us can buy this show on DVD and bask in its exuberance anytime we want. It's pie, all right. And it's absolutely delicious.

Four years ago, this show premiered and I was immediately entranced. I watched every episode religiously. There are absolutely no words to describe the greatness of this show. The Cast-From the eclectic Olive to the hardened Lily, you could never ask for a more perfect cast. Every single actor gets so into their character, it's amazing. There's not a single character to dislike either. The characters are original and the actors playing them are fabulous. Three of the four main characters were all rightly nominated for Emmys and Golden Globes, however only Kristin Chenoweth nabbed one, but every single actor deserved one. Also, the guest stars deserve recognition; whoever cast Eric Stonestreet, Joel McHale, Wendie Malick, Jayma Mays, Molly Shannon, and more is an absolute genius. The Plot-I can't stand cookie-cutter plots that are close to other shows' plots, but this one is so original, quirky, and imaginative you cant't help but love them all. From a dog breeder in a polygamous relationship who is killed by one of his four wives to a killer Frescorts (friend escorts) owner, every episode is more outrageous than the last. In between these bizarre murder mysteries lie morals and family drama-they get so much in in every episode. There is also so much witty humor (that never goes stale)-each episode left me in stitches. The Sets-Absolutely stunning. Enough said. The Special Effects-Even the special effects are whimsical on this show. They look real while at the same time are so over the top you can't help but crack a smile. The Music-Jim Dooley is a master at this show. The music is truly beautiful. It doesn't get in the way of the show by any means, but it just adds another layer ot the fantastical and whimsical aspect of the show.Unfortunately, this show was too smart to survive more than two seasons, although it deserved many more. It premiered in the worst possible time (The Writer's Strike of '07) and only has twenty-two episodes, but they are truly the best twenty-two episodes TV was ever lucky enough to have. I suggest this to anyone and even two and a half years after its finale it still garners so much praise from everyone who watches it.

The story is based on a Pie Maker that can bring dead people/things back to life for a minute before something of equivalent life is taken. And second touch is death, death forever. The show has a over voice narration, and follows the Pie Maker and a private eye solving crimes, by talking to the dead
for a minute anyways. Oh yes, and he brings back to life the love of his life, Chuck. This show is the anti-Tim Burton, instead of dark and strange, it still has some of the dark and a lot of the strange
in a brand new spanking techi-color! The costumes are beautiful and the scenery is unique. The plot is not very strong or the story line but it's still so pretty to watch and the characters are very likable.
