Ogosmith Each character in this movie — down to the smallest one — is an individual rather than a type, prone to spontaneous changes of mood and sometimes amusing outbursts of pettiness or ill humor.
Patience Watson One of those movie experiences that is so good it makes you realize you've been grading everything else on a curve.
Edison Witt The first must-see film of the year.
rumblinglove I have to say that POPULAR was one of the most greatest teen shows that appeared on television, it was a really good show that discussed teen issues even though that it's sourt of unrealistic, but hey i just watch it for fun. For the first season, I give it five by five as it was very entertaining and a good solution for somebody specially the teens, to run away from problems and torture. The second season was good but more serious that even the ending was twisted and gave me some sourt of depression but it doesn't mean that it's not good. I really wanted another season but I just can't understand why would they give up on this show; if the WB fear from the ratings that maybe lower then the first but even though not bad, then hell with the WB just find another network because a show like POPULAR isn't the kind to be rejected quickly.I would like to add that I hate the now CW 'WB'; why in the world did they give up on this show they didn't even give it a chance. Before Buffy, the WB begged for a least successful show and just after that they thought that they were big deals. The WB didn't not only disappointed POPULAR but they disappointed BUFFY as will which was the main reason for their success. POPULAR should've been sold to a company like ABC, cause ABC gives decent chances for a show's success; like 'Ugly Betty', this show was only successful for it's first season and went downhill fastly after that but look at ABC, they're still giving chances for this show.
jenny_rocks1 I think that " Popular" is a great show and that you should bring it back!!! I have both seasons and i would buy the 3rd season if there was one. the show is great and i really enjoy watching it. It is a funny and dramatic and love watching it. You should bring it back!!!!!! My favorite characters are Mary Cherry and Sam McPherson. I think George and Sam make a great couple same with Brook and Harrison. The t.v show involves really problems that teenagers deal with every day. The t.v show is very realistic. It is my favorite t.v show and i think it is better than any other t.v show on t.v right now. I think they should continue this show because they left the 2nd season on a cliff hanger and now i am wondering what happened. I think that "popular" should start up again!!!!
christinab2006 It was doomed from the start, I guess... Finally, a show with some intelligence, placed (unfortunately) in the prime time spot of what was it? Friday NIGHT?! Lucky for me, I was under 21 at the time the show was on, just barely too young to partake in the bar scene. So I looked forward to watching TV on Friday nights while my boyfriend (at the time) was whooping it up. I think Popular was directed toward what I call "the forgotten years," those people born between "gen. X" and "gen. Y". (or "gen. why?" ...if you will) I am a member of that demographic, Too young to remember the birth of MTV or the whole "Grunge" thing, yet too old for IPods, Rap-Rock, and vocational schools. But maybe the lack of marketing toward people in my age range has been beneficial to me. (I have very little credit card debt.) But at the same time I challenge network execs to try and entertain me again. And this time, don't cancel my favorite show prematurely. Or hell, sell me a DVD of 'Popular' or 'My So-Called Life' for God's sake! ---Christina B, Portland Oregon
tdm86 OK finding out Tammy Lynne Michaels was a lesbian was shocking....yet watching series you can kind of tell.....But I'm gutted. Sara Rue you go girl. I miss popular god bless DVD thou....I'm glad they did two series stop while its still brilliant......I lived for popular waiting up till stupid O'Clock to watch it. It was the new step from Dawson's creek into teen comedy...set a trend....Popular is unquestionably on of the best programmes i watched as a teen. without Chris i wouldn't have ever been able to get out of bed. But the comedy has continues into Less Than Perfect with Sara rue and also the spin shows by the rest of the cast. I must say i do miss Miss Glass and the drama's. Confessions of a bathroom has to be the best episode. Series two wasn't a patch on the first. Original series.....Owe my life to it Lou
