guiden80 The first episode starts out well enough, tricking you into believing that this is a dark comedy/spy show. It's not. It's about a seriously depressed man on a quest to prevent nuclear armament in a certain country. As the story unfolds he encounters more and more obstacles. At first he tries to navigate them. After a very short while, he just gives up though. Seriously. The rest of the season is pretty much filler and close-ups of his sad, sad face. It's EXCRUCIATINGLY boring. Like, it gets so tedious it's almost hypnotic. I can't even say why I sat through the whole season. I regret watching it.

Dropkickmeelmo I can't say enough about this show. I stumbled across it on Amazon Prime last summer (2017) and figured, "What the hell?". I love espionage shows (namely The Americans), but I saw the comedy tag with it and was a little weary. Especially since it came out in 2015 and there was only 1 season. However, less than 5 minutes into it (when John bombs the interview and has to introduce someone to a vehicular manslaughter indictment) I was concerned no more.The comedy in this movie is delivered with deadpan delivery much like many of the things I laughed at in Fargo (the movie) that not a lot of other people found as hysterical. Maybe it's just me and my sick and twisted mind, but it strikes home. His songs he does on open mic nights at coffee shops left my sides hurting so bad from laughing.But enough about how sick and twisted the humor is: The plot is about a horribly depressed (about his work) CIA officer that has to assume a NOC (non-official cover) role in a pipe fitting firm based out of Milwaukee, WI so he will be able to infiltrate the Iranian regime and assist in disrupting their nuclear program. He NEEDS to get the job as this is the only firm that does work in Luxembourg (where Iran stores their money). John needs to get this job so badly (despite being COMPLETELY ignorant of the work the company does) he has to resort to efforts that a normal person would find stomach churning (mentioned above).Once he gets the job and goes to Europe his father (essentially his boss in The Agency) ends up roping his brother (a US Congressman) to assist John in his work once over in Luxembourg. As hijinks, plans, and pretty much everything conceivable go awry John ends up needing to rope another totally unfit (for the Agency work) co-worker into his plans in evading a homicide investigation once over in Luxembourg.Can't recommend the series enough. I'm totally stoked it's going to have a season 2 here in 2018. Another good show is desperately needed to give the world a good laugh and take our collective minds off the rest of the outside world.I try not be prone to hyperbole, but this show is absolutely fantastic. 10/10

blackie-cortez Chris Walken has nothing to do with this show. But he is who I thought of every time Michael Dornan - I hope I'm spelling that correctly -came on screen. It's misleading to call this series quirky. It moves along with the rhythm of everyday life and ordinary people if it was routine to periodically see someone getting up from a breakfast table and falling into a ravine when the scene is neither a tragedy nor a joke. The story just moves on. Reviewing this movie is an exercise in not spoiling it for the next viewer. It has political intrigue, but it's not an espionage movie. It has the workings of a piping company in Milwaukee, but It's not about life in a midwestern industrial town. Folk music is integral to the story, but you could pluck it out without altering the structure of the movie. I cannot picture what the process of writing this story was like. Or how the characters were created. It somehow all comes together to be something you can't turn your gaze from without missing something you will be glad you saw. I am writing this after watching only three episodes to encourage its being watched so it doesn't slip through the cracks. If you watch the first episode and the hook isn't in, it's probably not for you. But if you get up then to turn it off, don't be surprised if you find yourself flopping on the floor gasping for breath through your gills.

It was a brilliant introduction to a series that promises more of the same (I hope).A Kiwi lead! I have watched many New Zealand TV shows with absolute pleasure. His face is new to me. He plays the lead role with subtly, and with the the dead pan face of a true comedian.
