It aired on Fox as a 30-minute show and Fox Family as an extended 60-minute show in the summer/fall of 2001 for 13 episodes and is the predecessor of the current show Endurance on Discovery Kids. The show was filmed on Pilaa beach near Hanalei on the island of Kauai's North Shore.

Moolah Beach Audience Reviews

TrueJoshNight Truly Dreadful Film
TrueHello Fun premise, good actors, bad writing. This film seemed to have potential at the beginning but it quickly devolves into a trite action film. Ultimately it's very boring.
Patience Watson One of those movie experiences that is so good it makes you realize you've been grading everything else on a curve.
Bob This is one of the best movies I’ve seen in a very long time. You have to go and see this on the big screen.
divasweety This show is awesome!!! Jacob is sooo cute. I think this is a great show to have for a group of kids. I wish i could be on it. I would love to have the chance to be able to be on my own with a bunch of people that i can make friends with and will hopefully not judge me before they get the chance to talk to me. This is a great experience for kids. I hope they have another season.
Willow192 You know that really slow time for television on Thanksgiving break when you're stuck at your grandmother's house and all that's on is one specific show that happens to be having an all day marathon? Well, that's how I stumbled upon this rather unfortunate show. The show, like many other reality shows, seems to be fixed. Everyone seems to be acting out a part and not with very much believability either. Is it just a coincidence that the one girl, whom everyone believed couldn't win because she was too prissy and girly at the beginning of the game, came back in the end and nearly won. It seems as if they want to teach kids a lesson here. Don't judge people and you can do whatever you want to do in life.Another thing that was unnerving to me was the way that big statue of a tiki head put out the colored cube things. If the people in 1st place hate 10 makers, why wouldn't one color come out more than once. Did the creators of the show not think that we would notice? If you look at it from a different perspective, this show has it all. Sex, lies betrayal. The whole thing with the blue team actually made me outraged. I felt so bad for them. And the way that everyone was crying after they did it made me angry. Even then their tears seemed fake. This is no survivor because it's a couple of prissy teenagers on a beach running around in cute little bathing suits that happen to be their team colors (Might Morphin Power Rangers anyone). But I guess it's enjoyable to watch if there is nothing on. And if it's not enjoyable to watch, it's certainly enjoyable to slam later::smile::.
pooh-24 Moolah Beach is a survival of the fittest reality show for kids that the Fox Family Channel came up with before their competitors did.It would have a group of nice looking kids put on a isloated but controlled environment of an island, have the kids paired off in groups of two and have them battleit out with competitive games against each other that would determine who would be the last duo standing at the end.Because of the games, because of the controlled environment, because of host J.D.Roth being present with the kids,Moolah Beach is not quite Survivor or Big Brother or The Amazing Race. But it is a great deal like them because every thing the kids say seem to be scripted.Their emotions after the games are scripted and seem like bad overacting. With everything controlled there seems to be little or no tension to how everything shall turn out at the end.Like with the adult reality shows, the big winners at the end seem to have been chosen way in advance,to provide the show with an good reason to watch the show until the end.One of the winners of Moolah Beach's first(only?)season,a beautiful girl named,Summer seems to bare this out.We stay until the end of the process because Summer is still in the running at the end for the big prize. What a gimmick.Moolah Beach is tame enough, but like its' reality adult show like relatives,it is so fake and overhyped that it is a surprise people go for shows like these.A show that would provide real rewards in a setting that has real challenges to it,would be worthwhile for contestants and viewers alike. It would, however, have to have more imagination to it than a fluff show like Moolah Beach.
luzerne1 Some would say Moolah Beach is like Survivor but it really isn't. This show is a pleasure to watch because it is different. It kind of reminds me of those good Nickelodeon game shows that are now gone. With most of television so boring Moolah is a huge plus. It airs on Fox Family Channel which is home to Mall Star Countdown which also gets high marks in my opinion. If you haven't been watching the show start watching it or record it. In fact I'll let you find out how good it is. I won't be describing the show here. Like "The Amazing Race" on CBS which is struggling in the ratings probably because it airs after the frozen 60 Minutes 2. Moolah Beach gets high marks!
