Wonderful character development!
Robert Joyner
The plot isn't so bad, but the pace of storytelling is too slow which makes people bored. Certain moments are so obvious and unnecessary for the main plot. I would've fast-forwarded those moments if it was an online streaming. The ending looks like implying a sequel, not sure if this movie will get one

There is, somehow, an interesting story here, as well as some good acting. There are also some good scenes

I have yet to watch the UK version of this show but I'm going to go out on a limb and say it shouldn't be too hard to beat the surprisingly low standard of the US version. I'm not a fan of randomly bashing US remakes; however, this show has more than earned its right to be bashed. The saddest thing is that there was actually a lot of potential for the writers to work with – but I guess they chose "to go another way". The characters could have been incredibly interesting and intriguing. First of all there are Savi – a driven lawyer dealing with some serious marital problems – and her sister Joss – a party girl trying to find her way in life. Then we have Karen – a successful therapist who had an affair with one of her married patients – and April – a widow raising her 10-year-old daughter on her own. Any of these story lines has so much potential for realistic drama that it almost makes me cry to see it go to waste. The three most prominent issues responsible for this squandering are the predictability of the story lines (you can see the "twists" coming miles away), the lack of likability of the characters (just when you're starting to warm up to a character they go ahead and do something unbelievably stupid and sometimes downright absurd) and last but definitely not least the disappointing performances of some of the actors (I mean – seriously – what happened to Yunjin Kim? She used to be a pretty decent actress. Flat and uninspired are the kindest words I can find here). Personally, I think a good show is supposed to draw you in and make you forget that its stories and characters aren't real. Sadly, Mistresses US fails miserably in this respect.

Great program and should be watched by people who love these kind of shows. I've watched the British series which was brilliant but i am NOT going to say how brilliant that was and that you should just watch ours instead.I will comment on the American series that i am enjoying immensely. Every episode leaves you wanting more as the show has so much going on that stops it from being boring and keeps you really interested and wanting the next episode straight away. The characters all have something going on in their lives which is great as you don't get bored concentrating on just one character. Joss is my favorite as she is wild and funny but the group still love her lots and need her advice just as much as the other three women. Anyway,a fun show that should be watched or at least given a chance. Also good to see the good looking English actor Ricky Whittle appear in series two. Plays a really good part just like the rest of them..

A wonderful escape and not degrading to women at all! Portrays real relationships and life issues that many have and don't want to admit to the world. Funny how many trashy reality shows are popular, yet this sophisticated adult drama is getting scathing reviews. I really think its the title that turns people off, which is a real shame. Please give the show a chance and you might find yourself really enjoying a lovely, fun and captivating escape! The casting and acting is superb! I'm a happily married stay at home mm for 14 years, joyfully loyal and watching this show feels FABULOUS! Like having a super interesting group of girlfriends with complex yet realistic drama. Thank you for the best and most entertaining show I've seen in a long time! :)

Listen, I get it. It makes women seem naive, vulnerable, blah, blah, blah. THAT'S WHAT I ENJOY WATCHING. I don't want to come home from a 12-hour shift to watch something based in reality. I want something fluffy and ridiculous. Perhaps there are others that disagree with me. That's fine. But I do believe that you all should take this show for what it is. It's a one-hour escape from reality. And yes, the plot is silly and the acting is a bit forced. But is there really a need to attack it for lacking a feminist viewpoint? I see the real world every day. I don't need to see it when I kick back with a miller light and a puzzle. I don't get all the reviews that this is putting women back "30 years" and is "demoralizing." It's a F*CKING ABC soap opera. Leave your far-left feminist ideology at the door and have some fun.
