I am only giving this movie a 1 for the great cast, though I can't imagine what any of them were thinking. This movie was horrible

While it doesn't offer any answers, it both thrills and makes you think.

Having grown up amid a barrage of references to this shows, I thought it was about time I gave it a watch. Unfortunately, I was ten years too late. I can imagine this brand of over-the-top, overacted craziness being funny to my early teenage self at the time. Watching it now, however, it is crass, unimaginative, repetitive, surprisingly dated, and worst of all boring. It might work if a few more of the characters were more than lazy stereotypes and their catchphrases had some comic weight, but unfortunately being slapped with wet fish after wet fish rather loses its appeal after an occasional chuckle to begin with. After no more than a couple of episodes, you know exactly how each skit will pan out, and I often found myself accurately predicting exact punchlines well before they appeared. I persisted with it in the hope it might mature, but if anything it gets worse, simply because it gets more tiresome the more you see the same thing over and over again. The only saving grace is Anthony Head as the Prime Minister, and that's only a drop in the ocean. Dreadful, clumsy, and hopefully to be consigned to history. Not the classic I was hoping for.

When I first started to watch this show, I was extremely skeptical. It was one of my first experiences with British humor and to be honest, made me feel weird. I didn't exactly like it at first, but I gave it a second chance and watched it again. The second time I watched it I found it really funny. I wasn't used to the quirky British humor, but now I find it really funny. This show went places that may be out of an average person's comfort zone, but with the right perspective, it can be really funny. I suggest giving it a second chance if you don't exactly like it on your first try. This humor isn't for everyone, but if it is your type of humor, it's a great show. Some of the jokes are the same throughout the show and not something you could be "Obsessed" with necessarily, but something you could definitely watch for some good laughs every once in a while. There is also some great acting as well. That's always a plus.

It's not easy to write comedy nowadays with so many people claiming some sort of 'injury' from a comment or remark, and I guess the show does indeed show us the state of Britain today. What more can be said about that? Yet, sadly, we now seem to have humour that is cruel, hurtful, crass, and basically unfunny - all the things levelled at humour in the 70s by right-on alternative comedians (the 70s humour was gentle, cheeky, and genuinely engaging as well as funny) Many scenes in Little Britain are distasteful or meant for shock value. I'm all for non-PC shows, if there is genuine humour, and whilst in Little Britain there are some good moments - mainly Tom Baker's voice-over comments - much is repeated and the lines are just not funny. Mainly because I find most of the characters loathsome,,,(rather like that ghastly Catherine Tate's schoolgirl) I'm sorry but David Walliams constantly dressed as a woman feels somewhat creepy too. Not the worst show but I can't see why it's deserving of all those plaudits; maybe because there's a paucity of good comedy nowadays.

I adore well written comedy from the US and UK but this is not it. While sometimes there are funny moments the majority of it is predictable and a bit pointless. I don't know if its just me but Im sure its intentionally dumbed down. I don't know the reason why because undoubtedly the two writers can write a much better script ( well I hope they can) While the show attacks all groups and genders it is in fact riddled with political correctness in every sketch. Its to much to go in to here, but its the usual promotion of certain leftist agendas and tries at every opportunity to ridicule any right wing thinking. To cover the tracks of an agenda no group is left out of the scenery whether its gays, fat people, Christians, the Pope, Hindus, posh people, gypsies, Scottish people etc but the one group they have never made fun out of is Muslims. Its not that I care one bit whether they do or not but its an obvious display of double standards. However the show is on the BBC and no one on the BBC would dare put a Muslim or Islam in a comedy sketch. Some would say Im just miserable and shouldn't let the politics be involved. Well perhaps I am miserable but thats why I watch a lot of comedy and I cannot ignore the political agenda when its drilled in to me. It wouldn't be so bad if it were done with much more intelligence but its not.The two main actors are very good, but I see the taller one as the main talent by a long way. Everyone seems to like the shorter one the best but I think thats because he is short and fat. I think we will see the taller one go on to much greater things. Im also sure these two can write much better comedy and when they do I will happily write a glowing review.
