Kenny the Shark is an animated television series produced by Discovery Kids. The show premiered on NBC's Discovery Kids on NBC from November 1, 2003 and ended February 18, 2006 with two seasons and 26 episodes having been shown. The series continued to run on Discovery Kids until the network changed into The Hub on October 10, 2010. Discovery Kids closed with a 4 hour marathon of Kenny the Shark episodes. Despite the closure, it still aired on The Hub until March 25, 2012. It is about an anthropomorphic tiger shark named Kenny that decides to move out of the ocean. He was the protagonist and main character in the series. This was not Kenny's first appearance, however. In the late-1990s, a series of shorts ran between regular programming. Kenny was not seen, as the camera was from his point of view. A contest was held to guess what kind of shark Kenny was with the result being a tiger shark.

Kenny the Shark Audience Reviews

Teringer An Exercise In Nonsense
Doomtomylo a film so unique, intoxicating and bizarre that it not only demands another viewing, but is also forgivable as a satirical comedy where the jokes eventually take the back seat.
Lidia Draper Great example of an old-fashioned, pure-at-heart escapist event movie that doesn't pretend to be anything that it's not and has boat loads of fun being its own ludicrous self.
atomius This is one of those shows you watch if there's nothing better to do, and you won't be disappointed, just not exactly intellectually stimulated either. It concerns the adventures of Kat, a girl, and her pet tiger shark Kenny. (insert shocked gasps) Yes, a tiger shark who, amongst other characters from the sea, can somehow breathe out of water, stad on his tailfins and loves being a humans pet. Let's... continue. The opening theme is one of those annoyingly unforgettable tunes that you need to get out of your head with a nuclear missle. The animation is of that annoying 'i can't fill between the lines' style i so despise. The characters and jokes are lame. It's TV, people. Sure, its not that magnificent, and i'd suggest watching something better if possible, but it isn't sub-par. Remember, 'par' has gone doooown. The show is midly entertaining, but really, they couldv'e done so much better with modern technology. Another annoying thing is the way Kat constantly acts as a shark expert whilst forgetting they use gills to breathe. I mean, seriously.
jonathan_k80 There are some funny moments in this show, particularly the interaction between Kenny and the neighbor's dog, Marty. Overall the series is charming, informative and will address an issue (i.e. Kenny being jealous of the parrot Kat brought home) without being too preachy or condescending. There is also an interesting cast of human characters on this show, too numerous to list here. I think Kat is so cute!"Kenny" has been renewed for a second season; the new episodes started October 2, 2004. I hope it has a long enough run to warrant release on DVD.
Ginger87 I have seen "Kenny the Shark" a few times on the Discovery Kids Channel and it seems like a cute show. I like the idea of a girl owning a pet shark. It's original. The show is also very funny. One of the episodes I saw was about fathers day and Kenny the shark kept ruining it for Kat's father. That was pretty funny. Another episode I saw was about Kenny the shark having a party with a lot of other sharks in Kat's house. I also like the scene change of a live shark floating across the scene. That's cool.Overall this show is cute and I suggest that everyone should watch it one day. I give this show 9/10 stars.
