Just so...so bad
Freaktana
A Major Disappointment
Brendon Jones
It’s fine. It's literally the definition of a fine movie. You’ve seen it before, you know every beat and outcome before the characters even do. Only question is how much escapism you’re looking for.

Great example of an old-fashioned, pure-at-heart escapist event movie that doesn't pretend to be anything that it's not and has boat loads of fun being its own ludicrous self.

'Jinx' is turning out to be one of those rare treats: a family sitcom that just works. We've been hooked. It's colourful, energetic, and most of all funny. Mischievous 'Cookie' is joyously played, and the other cast have a lovely sense of comic timing. Kudos also to 'Lulu' who holds all the mayhem together. It's very much in the mould of American sitcoms (maybe even 50's coms), but that's no bad thing. Small criticism is that the episodes don't seem long enough; just as the stories are getting into their stride, the show ends. But apart from that, the stories are like The Simpsons, being complete, crazy, morality tales. Recommended.
