Inside Edge Audience Reviews

Stevecorp Don't listen to the negative reviews
SpunkySelfTwitter It’s an especially fun movie from a director and cast who are clearly having a good time allowing themselves to let loose.
Sammy-Jo Cervantes There are moments that feel comical, some horrific, and some downright inspiring but the tonal shifts hardly matter as the end results come to a film that's perfect for this time.
Aneesa Wardle The story, direction, characters, and writing/dialogue is akin to taking a tranquilizer shot to the neck, but everything else was so well done.
Tanuj Poddar I started watching it with a pretty much blank slate, not really expect much. To my surprise, the series did keep me engaged enough to binge through to the end. The plot circles around a T20 cricket franchise named Mumbai Mavericks playing in the Powerplay League. The main plot is centered around a cunning businessman buying the team and influencing it by hook or by crook to achieve his ulterior motives. The series spanning 10 episodes it tightly scripted with multiple sub plots shedding light on the members of the team, the sub plots often times fail to leave an impact. The series begins with glamour and larger than life portrayal of its characters to attract attention, builds up a stronger story-line in the middle, becomes predictable towards the end and then horribly botch it all up in the end while concluding.Vivek Oberoi and Richa Chaddha were the most well known in the cast, but Richa was patchy and inconsistent whereas Vivek failed to look the part, mostly overacting. The interactions between Vivek and Richa towards the beginning of the series were just laughable in terms of the dialogue delivery, specially the dialogues in English. Vivek's unveiling his game plan to his business partners was the only part where he looked good. The other members of the cast specially Angad, Tanuj, Siddhant, Sayani and Sanjay had great chemistry as a team and gave the audience something to relate to and root for. Siddhant's character has the best built up and his performance shines through. Amit Sial and Manuj Sharma had too much on their plate in terms of providing comic relief as well as executing the not-so-well intention-ed plans of the boss, in the end they fail in delivering the desired impact. Production value (apart from the actual cricket matches) is good and makes it watchable and binge watching the series might help you get through to the end without feeling very disappointed. While with its set of fallacies, the good parts of the series still pull the rating to a 7 for me.
pawanjounkani It is a movie which is splitted into 10 parts and each part contains Glamour and Thrill. It shows the INSIDE reality of Film stars, Politicians and Crickets,All the casts were chosen distinctively and played their role Outstandingly, magnificently, admirably and flawlessly.Direction was Superb and the most amazing thing about the story was that when you start watching it, it creates an addiction to watching it till the end. Climax was awesome.Keep it up. I loved these series and waiting desperately for Season 2 to be released soon.
rohanswamy17989 A surprisingly well made series. Its always tricky to pick up Cricket as a subject because people expect a lot of originality when it Comes to delivery. can go horribly wrong.but it surprises. The only Misfit was Vivek oberoi. the larger than life, extravagant billionaire outfit didn't suit. Would've loved to see Ronit Roy probably. A good series and a good start to Amazon prime originals in India.
Akshay Kumar (akshay-ak-kumar) Finally, we have a web series in India made by a top production house with great production values, good content and story and a well known star cast.Inside Edge is inspired by the IPL and all the backroom drama behind it. So we have the Bollywood actress wonderfully played by Richa Chadda desperately trying to save her team and career, Angad Bedi plays the honest and principal Team Captain, Tanuj Virwani the swash buckling superstar, Amit Sial the devil in the team, Siddhant Chaturvedi the young inexperienced one, Sanjay Suri the nice coach with a hidden past and finally Viveik Oberoi the master villain. And to this with a great supporting star cast consisting on Sayani Gupta and Manu Rishi Chadha and you get is an edge of the seat thriller. What I enjoyed the most is that most of the characters are fleshed out. Most of them are grey; some forced to sell the soul to Devil while some trying to runaway from it. Each one is fighting their demon inside and some issue thats challenging them. The show beautifully captures the money and power in cricket and how as Angad Bedi's says the game is run by politicians and filmstars who nothing about the game. How honest cricketers are forced into corruption and how money can be made by one shot or delivery. This show highlights the casteism in team with Sial being the upper caste running down Chaturvedi who is from a lower caste. Each episode ends on an interesting note and there are enough twists and turns to keep you glued. And I loved the last 5 mins of the show..brilliant!! And thanks to the show being on the internet, there is no censorship...so no beep on cuss words and good sex scenes. However, the writing could have been more crisper, Oberoi's character is too cartoonish and sometimes it becomes a bit boring in the middle of the season. Also, the show dialogues move between Hindi and English which left me confused sometimes. The performances are top notch. Richa Chadha is in fine form. Though her English dialogue delivery is poor and I don't blame a bit for her, she covers it with a controller performance. Angad Bedi is a revelation; he needs to do more good stuff after last year's Pink and Dear Zindagi, Suri is seasoned actor and is good in a small supporting role of a man with a troubled past, while Tanuj and Sayani are great in their roles of a heart throb - sex machine - dope smoking cricketer and his cricket analyst sister. However, the stars of the show are Manu Rishi the rival team owner who is brilliant in a small but important role, Sial the corrupted cricketer and Chaturvedi who is inexperienced discriminated but learns to fight back. But the biggest disappointment in this lovely series is the villain. Oberoi is a decent actor but the problem here is that he has been giving a cartoonish villain to performance and instead of being subtle, Oberoi just goes overtop. We never get to know who is he, where he is from and who is behind. Pity for Oberoi.Overall a good product and I am waiting for season 2. Hope it remains as good as one.
