Hit & Miss Audience Reviews

Aneesa Wardle The story, direction, characters, and writing/dialogue is akin to taking a tranquilizer shot to the neck, but everything else was so well done.
Ava-Grace Willis Story: It's very simple but honestly that is fine.
Tayyab Torres Strong acting helps the film overcome an uncertain premise and create characters that hold our attention absolutely.
Marva-nova Amazing worth wacthing. So good. Biased but well made with many good points.
prettysweetgirl I joined IMDb because of this show. I watched the whole season in one sitting because the story and acting were so spot on with regards to what a transgender person feels, goes through in life and the conflicts that arises from our relationships. Yes I am a transgender woman too, and it is so great to see a heroine in a show that I can identify with-- THANK YOU to the producers and Mr. Sean Conway for the superb script. What makes this show come to life is the luminescent acting of Chloe Sevigny (Mia), she truly embodies the character so that she is not acting-- just so incredible! Also kudos to the supporting cast, Peter Wight as Eddie – Mia's boss, a professional criminal in Manchester. Jonas Armstrong as Ben – a romantic interest of Mia Vincent Regan as John – owner of the land owner where the family lives. Ben Crompton as Liam – brother of Wendy Karla Crome as Riley – Wendy's daughter; Mia's stepdaughter Reece Noi as Levi – Wendy's son; Mia's stepson Jorden Bennie as Ryan – Wendy's and Mia's son Roma Christensen as Leonie – Wendy's daughter; Mia's stepdaughterI can't wait for the next season! I've already started to tell my patients (nurse) and friends about this show!!! Oh also, there are quite some violent type of scenes that may not be suited for children-- they are sort of Quentin Tarantino-esque bloody scenes. Sort of Sopranos meet Transamerica all in one show.
danny70000 Complex characters, and well acted. Chloe Sevigny, whom I had never seen before, is one of the best actresses I've encountered. I hope she will receive the recognition she deserves. The minor characters at times steal the show.Scenery is magnificent, and not at all what I would associate with the UK. It's really a shame that TV in the USA can't present quality and complexity on its broadcast channels. We are left with mindless "comedies" that aren't funny and action-adventure series that are one dimensional and nothing but car and foot chases.
luci-526-852757 I find this series has a lot in common with The Sopranos: outrageous, in-your-face violence, yes. Characters who seem impossible to love, yet whose humanity and character evolve over time and earn their way into your heart and psyche, yes. Phenomenal acting from an ensemble cast, yes. The contrast between complete disregard for (a stranger's) life alongside complete familial devotion and regard, yes. Strange, compelling beauty even in utter violence, yes, that, too.Chloe Sevigny, once again, is phenomenal. The young actors, particularly the two youngest, are consummate professionals already, completely believable and lovable, yet complex. And the teenage characters are, as any reasonably honest depiction of teenagers, alternately infuriating and inspiring compassion. The only character I found too flat and one- dimensional was John, our initial antagonist, but his family *may* make up for it, if they continue with a second season in line with the first.Mia's is a family who has seen and experienced life very different from what most reviewers will ever experience: it's unfair to compare their lives to ours. And I expect that it's unfair to compare too closely the experience of Mia as a transgender person as other transgender people in our neighborhoods (unless, of course, your transgender friends are also freakishly beautiful and skilled hired guns).Nevermind the homophobes who believe that there can be nothing good about this series because of its focus on a transgender person (and please don't believe that transgender=gay because it doesn't). Obviously, this is not a show to watch with small children in the room, mostly for the violence and disregard for human life. Even at my age, I prefer to watch by the light of day rather than right before bedtime. And yes, the sex is pretty explicit but not quite hardcore (think "R" not "X"). We see Mia in full-frontal nudity regularly, but it's all about the plot, not gratuitous. And almost all the characters are quite liberal with their language, with the F-bomb flying everywhere all the time, so in addition to not letting kids *see* this show, be careful about them listening from around the corner if you're concerned about that sort of thing.I think it all adds up beautifully, myself. And come to think of it, in contrast with the vast majority of crime shows on TV in the U.S., it's refreshing to have a female killer and male victims, instead of vice versa.
Scott Dylan Although it took a while to get into the story line, ultimately I've found Hit & Miss to be a great Series. The characters are played well and leave you feeling intrigued and wondering whats going to happen next. What I really liked about Hit & Miss was that the storyline comes across as realistic, which ultimately gained my interest in continuing to watch the series further. So far i've seen 6 episodes and am left wondering when the rest will be released as they seem to have ended in June.Im looking forward to the season 2... if it is ever to appear..
