SirJun Other reviewers here have gone into the plot details each of the 7 animated stories so I wont bother. Halo Legends is a mess. From the beginning of the film up to the point where I pressed the stopped button (halfway though story 3) it's mess.The story telling (narration) is painfully, painfully slow. The Anime is just simply awful. Halo Legends had the look and feel of Ulysses 31 [1981] A great animated cartoon in it's time but released as it is today would look dreadful because technology and animation techniques have moved on clearly the artist/animaters involved in Halo Legends haven't. I just couldn't connect or relate to anything I heard or saw in Halo Legends because the look and narrative pace is so wrong. I gave Halo Legends a go because I'm a fan of the games and thought the story from the games was impressive sci-fi so hoped to learn more about the Halo Universe.I learnt that Anime feature films suck. (and the technique should only be used on the cartoon network) Halo Legends is a blatant cash in that was made without care or love.Avoid at all costs.

adam_hx I watched this some time ago, and I am still in shock. Let me start by saying I love Halo. I have all the games, enjoy the books and comics... However Halo Legends was utter garbage and I regret watching it.There are 8 separate animated segments, done in different animation styles. It is similar to the Animatrix and Batman; Gotham Knight, except those ones are good.I will comment on some of the segments and what I thought of them.Firstly, the worst segment in my opinion was 'the duel'. The animation was horrible, I think it was trying to be stylized, but all I could think was 'lazy' and it was so blurry I couldn't tell what was going on most of the time. The story was some junk about an Arbiter who lives in Fuedal Japan and is married to a cat. He upsets the covenant and has to fight a bunch of blurry samurai after they kill his cat wife. Probably worth skipping this one.The second worst segment was named 'Homecoming'. I think they were trying to market this to an audience of 13 year old girls. It's about a girl Spartan who cries a lot and carries a little teddy bear keyring or something. I felt sick when I watched this one.The segment 'Odd one out' was bad from the start. This one I think was meant to be funny, but they forgot to put the jokes in it. I didn't even crack a smile.I think the segment 'Prototype' was added to Halo Legends by accident. They had an un-aired episode of Gundam lying around and it somehow found it's way into the collection. Watch it if you like Gundam.The segment 'Babysitter' had some potential... Unfortunately they ruined it because all the ODST guys had girl hair (Apparently the military doesn't have grooming standards in the future), and the Spartan is a girl (AGAIN). *SiGh* The package was probably the only segment I really enjoyed. The CG was like the games and it had lots of action (And no girls crying).Origins was okay, but really nothing more than a rehash of the game story. I thought of it as an instructional manual being narrated.In conclusion I thought Halo Legends was awful. I believe anime was a poor choice and there seemed to be too much influence from the Japanese production houses. (Apparently the Japanese thing all Spartans should be schoolgirls or something).If they do another Halo animation I hope DC or Marvel can get involved and do it decent.

moviecyborg This series of seven stories can't be beat. I love every minute of this series and I still can't believe how good the finale was. The animation is amazing and the voice-overs were excellent. The lipsyching is a little off but I don't care. The action is awesome and the "camera" angles are fantastic. The Package has amazing CGI and when the Spartans are completely covered by their armor they look real. The cartoons are incredibly detailed and so is the blood. The paintings for the duel are great and the energy swords look great. You need to see Halo Legends I gave it a ten out of ten and if that doesn't persuade you to see it I don't know what will. Overall Halo Ledgends is a must see for anyone who enjoys action movies but be forewarned Halo Legends is rated PG-13 for a reason.

WakenPayne ORIGINS I & II 8.5/10 When I Got This Film For My Birthday I Wanted To Watch All Of The Films. This Explains The Origins Of The Halo Universe For People Who Want To Know. The Animation Is Okay. So What Else Is To Say About This Movie? Nothing.THE DUEL 9/10 You Feel For The Arbiter In This Film(Even Though This Isn't The "Arbiter" From The Halo Games) This Is The Story Of The First Arbiter & It Explains To You In Halo 3 Why The Arbiter Said To The Prophet "@$$hole You Must Be Silenced". This Arbiter Has A Duel With Him Fighting An Army (& He Wins(If I Have Done Anything To Insult That Arbiter I Am Sorry)) & A Hunter Fights Him For Honour (& That The Arbiter Is ####ed Off He Killed His Wife). The Watercolour Animation Is Great In This Film. NEXTHOMECOMING 7/10 This Explains The Fact That The SPARTAN II's Were Taken At A Young Age & Given Training For Their Adult Years. You Feel For This SPARTAN & She Is The Most Useful SPARTAN Yet(Excluding SPARTAN 117(Master Chief)). The Animation In This Is Obviously Japanese But That Doesn't Stop It From Being Good.ODD ONE OUT 1/10 When Did Halo Become One 5 Minute Joke? You MAy Ask But I Have The Answer In This Pathetic Film. The Villain Is A Retarted Monkey & I Wish I Could Say Differently To Any Other Character. The Animation Looks Like Retarted Gamera. FANS AVOID.PROTOTYPE 10/10 After Suffering ODD ONE OUT I HAd High Doubts About Watching Another Movie But This Is Actually An Excellent Film That Supresses That High On Drugs Preceeding. This Explains A Platoon That Is In A Croosfire & Their Seargeant Was In Another Platoon That Died. This Explains About A Prototype Suit That Is Like The IRON MAN/WAR MACHINE(Iron Man 2) Armour & The Suit Is Up For Destruction. He Gets The Other Platoon Off The Planet & Fights The Covenant & This Makes The Seargeant Realise What It Means To Be Human By Destroying That Suit & The Covenant In 1 Go. Fans Will Like This One.THE BABYSITTER 8/10 This Consists Of The ODST Squad Teaming Up With SPARTAN To Kill The Prophet. This Film Explains To O'Brien(Best Shooter)To Let The Odd One Out To Have A Try. The Animation Is Great. Babysitter Is A Great FilmTHE PACKAGE 9/10 The Last Film Of The Series. The Film Souly Is About SPARTAN 117 Getting A PAckage Off A Covenant Ship & Retreive It Onto A Cloaked Human Ship. I Have To Say This Film Has The Best Animation Techniques & I Am Not Just Saying That. This Film Also Explains The Origin Of The Arbiter You Play As In Halo 2 & 3(In Halo 3 On Co-Op). Overall This Film Is Great.
