Very interesting film. Was caught on the premise when seeing the trailer but unsure as to what the outcome would be for the showing. As it turns out, it was a very good film.
Portia Hilton
Blistering performances.
Sienna-Rose Mclaughlin
The movie really just wants to entertain people.

My husband and I caught this show late at night on Comedy Central and have been hooked ever since! I've even programmed it into my Tivo so that I can watch it every time it comes on. For some reason CC doesn't like to air this show at a reasonable hour, so I'm forced to record it. I know that doesn't help for the ratings of the show, but there's no other way for me to be able to watch it. My husband always talks about how he wants to go on trips with Gerhard. We both think that it would be very cool to hang out with the camera man while the show is being taped, just to see how it's all done behind the scenes.I love the humor of the writers and how Gerhard interacts with all of the people he meets! I highly recommend this show to anyone that loves true comedy! Good job guys! Maybe it'll come back some day, like Family Guy...

"Gerhard Reinke's Wanderlust" was a short-lived show on Comedy Central (yes, I know that's a redundancy) about some German guy who mixed his v's and w's and often resorted to gimmicks and vulgar humor, like the...well, everything, actually. Reinke travels the world, most often to dangerous impoverished areas and he struggles to find things funny to do. Sometimes he succeeds, but usually he fails, and ends up just making fun of foreign people for the remaining ten minutes of the show. Hovewer, the show is watchable, with a rare burst of laughter, and the main character is interesting, especially when in extreme pain, and indeed, this is a common theme. VERDICT: ** of *****

I wasn't surprised when I saw that Jimmy Kimmel is behind this show and crank yankers. Kimmel's brand of gross-out, bathroom humor is taking over the entertainment world, or so it seems. There is an odd fascination with male genitalia running through the show. Some examples are Gerhard's constant thong wearing, things spilling out of his speedos, pee shyness, masturbation terms, etc...certainly a long way from the man show's juggies. It can be stomach-churning at times, but also very hilarious.

Gerhard (Josh Gardner) plays a German man traveling the world and getting into interesting and funny situations. He seems to be on a tight budget so he is seen wandering (hence the name of the show). His German accent constantly makes me laugh and the censoring of his speedo is hilarious. This show may not be some people's "bag" but give it a chance, you'll like it.
