Great movie! If you want to be entertained and have a few good laughs, see this movie. The music is also very good,

This is a coming of age storyline that you've seen in one form or another for decades. It takes a truly unique voice to make yet another one worth watching.
Freeman
This film is so real. It treats its characters with so much care and sensitivity.

I am a huge fan of the movie, so thought about giving this show a shot. I felt the way they tried to mix things up was interesting, but a lot of things really hold this show back. First of all, it's the cast. The Riley Smith who plays Frank Sullivan doesn't seem a good fit in my opinion. And no, I'm not comparing him to Dennis Quaid. Mainly I found it very hard to sympathize with him. The entire time he acted like a junky. And every time he spoke he seemed like he lacked confidence. He did not at all feel convincing to me that he was in law enforcement. That fact alone made it kind of hard for me to feel immersed into the show.Peyton List playing Raimy Sullivan might be the strongest part of the show, but in a way that might actually be a bad thing because whenever she has scenes with Lenny Jacobson who plays Gordo, it really just exaggerates just how terrible of an actor Lenny Jacobson is. I don't intend to be mean, maybe it's not his fault, but it's pretty painful every time he has any screen time. And if half of the main duo being completely not convincing wasn't bad enough, I found that the writing seems to be all over the place. Sometimes I find some of the things they do or some of the ways they tried to change up the original story kind of clever (not meaning better than the original, not in the slightest, but clever in that they found a way to deliver the scene without looking like an exact copy of the source), while other times, like in the dialog between the mother and father in the second episode, it seems very contrived. Now I admit I've only watched the first three episodes, I intend to at least finish the first season, but it seems to be getting worse with each episode rather than better, but I'll still give it a chance. If it improves in the later episodes I will definitely come back to revise this review. But as of right now, I am finding this series very mediocre. And that's not comparing it to the movie, which was excellent. If I compared the two, this would simply be terrible in comparison.

After watching the first episode, since it got released to Netflix, all I could really say is Holy crappy flying tentacles Batman. Its probably the best mesh up of two distinct time concepts that I have seen thus far. One aspect reminds me of the campy love story movie Lakehouse where Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock communicate across time by mailbox. The other aspect reminds me of the Butterfly effect, where subtle changes in the past muck up the present. Creating that Back to the Future motive of needing to fix things to restore the present. Will be interesting to see how the show manages to progress the story without being limited by the radio communication.

When I started watching this I was really happy to see that the story unfolded well. I was a bit apprehensive at first, thinking the story about this specific subject could go two different ways. Either it was going to amaze me or be completely disappointing. The complexity becomes greater with each episode, where past and future influence each other. There are different time lines. Life in the past, life in the future, life in the past after a choice changed the time line and time in the future after a choice made a change. I think the way these time lines work together is really attractive. The characters are well played, and quite realistic. However, one character really annoys me. And it may be personal. But I can't get over it. Raimy's mother just keeps going about how her ex-husband chose the job. But he's a policeman who went undercover. Without starting a whole argument about what I think about that in real life I just think that no matter what the issue is, it shouldn't be repeated 10 times every episode. Just let it go already!

I missed this one when it came out and watched on Netflix and couldn't stop watching as the story moved through the primary plot. I really liked the subplots for each individual episode creating a mini completion of that show. It has been a long time since I had to binge watch a series, the last one I remember was 24. I love the idea of ripples in the time continuum having effects which create different results of actions in another time. There are an infinite number of story lines that can be used to create different results in what we consider current events. When I watched the original movie, I thought it could make a good series. Hope it continues. It kept me on my seat the entire series.
