It’s fine. It's literally the definition of a fine movie. You’ve seen it before, you know every beat and outcome before the characters even do. Only question is how much escapism you’re looking for.

If you're interested in the topic at hand, you should just watch it and judge yourself because the reviews have gone very biased by people that didn't even watch it and just hate (or love) the creator. I liked it, it was well written, narrated, and directed and it was about a topic that interests me.

The story, direction, characters, and writing/dialogue is akin to taking a tranquilizer shot to the neck, but everything else was so well done.

Forever was a brilliant show, with brilliant writers, the show takes off running and keeps you glued until the very end.Forever tells the story of an immortal by the name 'Dr. Henry Morgan' in his 200-year lifespan, he's gained much knowledge and uses many past experiences in present homicide investigations, the premise of the show seems like it could have been just nonsense story after nonsense story, but through these stories, it tells of Henry's exceedingly long life and keeps you interested throughout the series. The actors are great, and it's a shame ABC made the decision to cancel, I was recently given the DVD set by a friend who told me about the show, I'd not heard of it before and definitely would have watched it live if I had.I'd definitely recommend this to anyone who enjoys Crime Dramas specifically, but also for those interested in a unique story driven experience. It's available on Amazon for a modest price.

At first I thought I wouldn't like this kind of series because it's going to be this boring detective/doctor-autopsy monotonous series but man, this masterpiece PROVED me wrong! The idea of an immortal man living his 2nd century of a lifetime actually intrigued me and urged me to have a peek on this show and I was totally not disappointed AT ALL. There is this undeniable mystery and thrill in each episode that makes you entirely craving for bits and pieces of the characters, their secrets, their agendas, their purpose, etc. The protagonist, Henry, combines such wit, wisdom, humor, psyche, charm, discreteness, vanity and authority in the most pleasant way an actor could really execute. His love with his foster father (Abe) and his lover (Abigail) is the most heart-warming of all and it was flawlessly portrayed as the season unveils. His current relationship with Jo as his partner also starts to grow on you. Though their relationship somewhat had a messy start, it was ultimately realized how Jo really feels towards Henry. What I really like about this series is that it is jam-packed with ideas and knowledge related to history, wars, science, medicine, forensics, and modern-world society. The linkage between the past and the present was unimaginably wonderful. Those facts/ideas were properly constructed that they form into an unexpected yet inviting puzzle. The narration, music, art and cinematography, writing and plot twists are so damn remarkable I cannot put them into perfect words. I had been in total awe as I witness the kind of fulfillment this show emanates to its audience. The depth of impact it delivers in each episode kind of explodes within you that it shatters the entirety of your invulnerability. I am quite honored to have watched this apparently underrated series of all time. It is really disappointing that shows like this didn't make it to the "mainstream" world. I guess it's never too late to go watch this, right? Give us the season 2 soon, please!

I read the synopsis of the series here on IMDb and marked it as Watchlist. It was sitting in the watchlist for a longtime until I decided to give it a try. First episode in and I was hooked. If the story does nothing else to you, it does make you think about what would you do if you become immortal? All the characters play their parts very gracefully. Ioan Gruffudd puts life in Henry as a man how is 200 yrs old and can die, but comes back from the dead whenever his life is taken. I was so intrigued by the character and its past. The show needed to explore more of Henry's past, not that it didn't, but we needed more of it. Also, Alana's character JO was very interesting. The damn people had to cancel the series at the point where JO started to understand her feelings towards Henry. Abe was a very sweet character. Mike and Lucas are very funny as JO's partner and Henry's assistant. When I started the series, I didn't paid much attention to Lucas, but when I did, I was always laughing from his goofup's. And Adam, really, what was his deal???I just wish the show wasn't cancelled with so many ends loose. Why wasn't Henry dead when he was shot with the gun? Will Adam die from that dagger, seeing Henry wasn't from the gun? What would have happened when Henry told his story to JO?We need less of kardashians, Bachelors, Maury's, Okay Maury is fun, but we need more of these.
