Lack of good storyline.

Each character in this movie — down to the smallest one — is an individual rather than a type, prone to spontaneous changes of mood and sometimes amusing outbursts of pettiness or ill humor.

"This is a true story"
Bad way to start.
First thing on every chapter, and that's a lie.
Creators should respect the audience and not knowingly lie to them.
That's a NO for me, and a 1 star rating... no matter how's the rest.

Season 1 is slower, Billy Bob's character Malvo is a bit too much for me. And the Biblical parallel story in the middle seems more of a filler to me. Martin Freeman's character arc is compelling, although repugnant. I can see great care in the first episode, in that to it very much resembles the movie. That's a setup. Setup for the payoff to the violence at the end of episode one. Or maybe even a setup for season 1 for Allison Tolman's character to arrive at the possible parallel (or some reference) to that of Francis Mcdermottt's character in the original movie.Season 2 moves at a breakneck pace when compared to the first , but there maybe one of two plot holes near the end. And I thought the execution by the forest is in some way similar to that in the Cohen's movie Miller's Crossing. At least I thought of it right away. Not as elaborate but reminiscent of. And for me, certain character motivation is not as clear or probable. Like the native Indian's mindset near the end, which needed a voiced over - a sign of lack of clarity.Very enjoyable overall because the story is solid, focused and meticulous. And acting is first rate.

Watched Fargo the Series, three episodes.
Then watched Fargo, the movie.
Must say, I forgot how good it was.
I was just going to compare the style for a few minutes, but the original did not let me go, I had to watch the whole thing.
The TV series is missing the accurate language of the original, its engaging characters and a well crafted plot.
It now feels like a waste of time.
Don't watch the movie if you want to see this show.

Great actors, ok music, and a good idea. Sorry to say, season one could be just one hell of a two hour movie, instead they´ve smudged it out over ten episodes that I regret even watching. Drop this and watch the original movie. It´s genius.
It´s supposed to portray real people, talking about mundane stuff, and sometimes they have like, these, you know, philosophical moments, kind of.
It does not work, to say the least. The characters are weak, and the police and FBI officers are so stupid, it´s only painful.
The first few episodes are funny, until we have more of the same, and the same again.
