It’s fine. It's literally the definition of a fine movie. You’ve seen it before, you know every beat and outcome before the characters even do. Only question is how much escapism you’re looking for.

This is one of the best movies I’ve seen in a very long time. You have to go and see this on the big screen.

Idea good. Special effects good. Halle Berry's acting isn't!!

I enjoyed this show. Its over-all quality was superior to most currently available shows. That doesn't mean the show was not flawed, but I suspect a lot of the criticisms I have read here were due to overly high expectations. As pure SciFi, I did not see the inconsistencies with potential reality that has become so common in recent SciFi productions, although the show did fail, as many SciFi stories do, to keep the "magic" limited. The aliens portrayed failed to use their established abilities whenever consistent use of those abilities would have prevented more exciting stories. I also found the stark black-and-white portrayal of good and evil and the frequency with which main characters switched sides unnaturally contrived. However, the acting was excellent, covering for many inconsistencies with nuanced changes in motivation demanded by the script so that the overall experience was still captivating.

It starts with a space pregnancy. Instead of the woman screaming, 'get it the hell out of me' the entire story is about her running around trying to find her 'baby'. Utterly unbelievable. No woman in her right mind would have that reaction to an alien pregnancy. Can't watch something so ridiculous as this.

First episode was quite promising, albeit a bit stiff, but that's understandable. As the series progressed it was more and more difficult to watch, as it felt fake, plasticky, it felt like most good shows feel after too many seasons. For a new show the acting felt surprisingly tired, forced. The show is situated in our near future, presenting us with somewhat futuristic versions of gadgetry we recognize and as a society are supposedly excited about (smartphones, self-driving cars etc), it includes almost all the popular subjects of sci-fi - AI, robotics, spaceflight, alien life-forms, you name it. It also has terrorists, evil corporations, bad and/or stupid government, afterlife/spirituality, plenty of action and violence, interpersonal drama, betrayal, sex... It feels like some lazy producers decided to take all the ingredients that previously have proved successful and mush them together, add a big star, some smaller ones and start cashing in! Well, to me it tastes mediocre or even bad. It's like putting pizza, caviar, ice cream, a steak, strawberries and some expensive wine in a blender and expecting a culinary masterpiece to emerge.
