Edgar Rice Burroughs' Tarzan and Jane Audience Reviews

Karry Best movie of this year hands down!
BelSports This is a coming of age storyline that you've seen in one form or another for decades. It takes a truly unique voice to make yet another one worth watching.
Neive Bellamy Excellent and certainly provocative... If nothing else, the film is a real conversation starter.
Brenda The plot isn't so bad, but the pace of storytelling is too slow which makes people bored. Certain moments are so obvious and unnecessary for the main plot. I would've fast-forwarded those moments if it was an online streaming. The ending looks like implying a sequel, not sure if this movie will get one
Richard24156 Children of all ages enjoy good animation but this is aimed at a very young and undicerning audience. Older viewers will not enjoy it like other animation. The plot has taken very many liberties from the well known historical novel. I personally enjoy animation that is more than a quick put together to generate content for net flix.
shobanchittuprolu Tarzan and Jane (2017): Netflix rebooting one of my favorite childhood fictional character Tarzan is the most exciting moment because we all know how the reboot of Voltron by Netflix is such a big hit.But when I watched the promos of Tarzan and Jane I just hoped that they don't ruin my childhood. But unfortunately they did :-( :-(Plot: Unlike real Tarzan,in this reboot Tarzan's parents are killed in a plane crash where our infant Tarzan is the only survivor. He is found by Kala the ape and surprisingly takes him to the nearest native village so the Shaman there can heal the injuries the little fellow had sustained during the crash. Shaman uses the potions created by a visitor on the baby and returns it to Kala and asks her to raise him.Because of all those potions our Tarzan gets superpowers (What the f!!).Young Tarzanis frequently visited and given lessons by Muviro, grandson of Shaman, who has become like a big brother to the jungle boy.But few other visitors results in Tarzan to be found by his grandfather Earl Greystoke and brings him to the city. There Tarzan and Jane, who is now his classmate, find about animal trafficking by anonymous person. So how did he stop him forms rest of the season..What I felt: This show's animation is rubbish when compared to Disney's adaptation.Tarzan is look is so bad and forget about Jane. She is not our beautiful and loving Disney's Jane. Here she is a kick-ass school girl who relies mostly on technology.Who the heck even want to give super powers to Tarzan. To the worse, they even added a blue color effect whenever Tarzan uses his super powers which looked so fake.Episodes are not at all interesting and dialogues are so clichéd.Background score is rehash of our Dhoom 2 score.I think in second season Tarzan may even meet aliens or blast some spaceships. So,Tarzan and Jane is the worst adaptation of a classic fictional character and I didn't expect a crappy work like this from Netflix, who brought us a brilliant Voltron reboot. My rating 4.5/10
allenbohbot It is not everyday that we see a new iconic character (or two) in a new style and medium and to a different target group. And it is less often that it actually works. Well, today Netflix launched a brand new animated version of Tarzan and the focus is not only on this character but on Jane. She is smart, athletic and his equal and that's saying a lot. From the jungle to the big city (London), we travel with Tarzan after he is saved from a burning plane by a gorilla who ends up raising him. I really do like this show, its attempt at being old and yet new, and still relevant. The animation is strong and i do think that I need to see more to properly judge the show because so far, it is pretty cool. Even the purist should like this rendition.
