I hesitate to imagine what tripe vampire stories the fans of this show would endure. This interpretation of Dracula was the worst I've witnessed. I stayed away from the low budget tripe, and this NBC series had no business being this horrendous.I'm convinced people would become fans of ANYthing nowadays,as long as pretty people say the stupid lines and they're wearing costumes. The "plots" in this Dracula were stunningly contradictory. Anyone with half a brain would have problems with what the characters were doing and saying. The only way to watch the show was to turn off your brain and watch the pretty pictures go by.I weep for the future of vampire stories, if people liked this one.

This series had me hooked from the dramatic beginning in the crypt What I like is the different take on one of horrors great characters A very complex character emerges with a lot of vengeful feelings but also very compassionate in his dealings with the women he is embroiled with he does not turn every women he meets int a vampire at all preferring they return their feelings from their own free will. The characters develop each episode all with a story told as to why and what they are doing at the present With Dracula A man with no discernible past but no doubt a wealthy industrial entrepreneur adds some interesting story lines in his quest for revenge against an equally dangerous human organisation,Hellbent on worldwide domination through the control of various assets such as oil etc they do not like competition Watch it you will actually end up liking Dracula maybe

While, yes, there seem to be gaps or too much fantasm in the plot (thanks to NBC, we might never know), the combo of a BBC Dickensian world, Jonathan Rhys Meyers and, yes, sex, makes this show addictive, if you can take a leap of faith. Penny Dreadful is already copying the aesthetic. The show has the look, feel of cable or the big screen, and I think going forward we will see more of this through network television, not less. Perhaps that viewership was not expecting something so dark. Or perhaps just stuck on NBC on a Friday night with no promo work, kind of surprising since it was a Bob Greenblatt vehicle with popular writer and experienced producer.

An amazing show that really captured my heart it was something original and spun in its own way. It wasn't too raunchy and the violence was very well filmed. The actors are all amazing and every character is enthralling in their own ways. I can't believe such an amazing show has been canceled when shows with far too much 'raunchiness' for my taste have been revered and have carried on into their fourth or fifth season. I will admit it did start off slightly slow but once I gave it a chance I was enthralled by it. I love it but its been canceled so lets try to save it SIGN THIS http://www.thepetitionsite.com/229/534/657/save-Dracula-on-nbc/ save our Dracula!
