Dokter Deen Audience Reviews

SeeQuant Blending excellent reporting and strong storytelling, this is a disturbing film truly stranger than fiction
Hadrina The movie's neither hopeful in contrived ways, nor hopeless in different contrived ways. Somehow it manages to be wonderful
Tayloriona Although I seem to have had higher expectations than I thought, the movie is super entertaining.
Benas Mcloughlin Worth seeing just to witness how winsome it is.
josieonnet I am one of the Duchies living abroad, and when I wanted to renew my passport they took it away from me, I have been sad since as I was proud that I was born in Soest, in the Netherlands where most of my siblings are living today. Strangely enough when I discover Dr. Deen this year my roots feelings came to life, the scenery that I have missed of houses we find typically in The Netherlands, the Crew that is part of Dr. Deen series are so such a professional contribution I have never seen in any other series, it touches my heart, my soul, it makes me truthfully proud of the place where I was born. excellent production, and location, a real presentation of who we are in Holland. thank you! Fien van Arizona, USA. and Tasmania, Australia.
ajdiversen It is a nice series to watch, with good characters, recognizable people. The location, the isle of Vlieland, is also very nice. I admire Monique van de Ven in her role as Docter Deen. She's doing very well as a doctor, her kids are good characters, also playing very well. Maybe the cases are a bit superficial, and they will not be spoken of in the next episode, it still is nice to watch!
bhoroosterman Dear double vision, I'm glad, that the whole crew was not fired. I'm proud to say, that I am the costume designer for this TV show. And thankfully, the 2.4 million viewers we have every week think otherwise. I'ts been great making this TV show, and the local population, have a big part in the making of this TV show. You clearly have no clue what you are talking about. We are not arrogant. We pay the island and the people who live there with the utmost respect, and are always really happy and humble to stay there every other summer for 12 weeks. Also we have the real doctor deen who has given us his full cooperation. Im pleased to say, that doctor deen is de best viewed TV show on this channel for the last 4 years, so we must be doing something right,,,Best regards Bho Roosterman
Double Vision I want to congratulate Edwin de Vries with the wonderful script and the inspiration he offered his wife Monique van der Ven and the rest of the crew. Thanks to him 2.4 million Dutch watched the first episode of a series of 10. I'm sure, he and his crew will be proud and satisfied, for, if 1/7 of the total population of the Netherlands is watching to your movie, you must be proud. And in show-business the credo is: quantity goes for quality. What about the quantity?: a lot of money, famous Dutch actors and viewers make a proud score. And what about the quality? I believe it was a new low point in Dutch movie history. Script, directing, camera, actors, all bad, bad, bad!!! Everybody of the crew should be fired.1. The location is the Frisian island of Vlieland, an island in the northern part of the Netherlands. Unfortunately the western part is occupied by the army who may bomb this part now and then, but the eastern part is nice, with his cute village, the dunes and the beach. Alas, the special atmosphere of the island is spoiled. The local population plays no role, the actors don't speak the local language, but a sort of queen's Dutch, they behave arrogant and drive with their jeeps through the few streets and on the beach as if they occupied the almost car free island. It was better to choose a location elsewhere, Bergen aan Zee, f.i. 2. The plot is boring, a boy falls from his horse, and almost nothing happens. The actors are busy with their mobile telephones and there is much ado about nothing, every tension is lacking. 3. Some scenes are shot on different days, one moment it storms, the next moment it is lovely summer weather. 4. The camera-man did a very bad job, in a manège we saw horses without heads and the lightning was bad. Monique was filmed unfavorably when she was with the boy on the beach. I longed for Jan de Bont, the ex-husband of Monique, when she was in her glory years and not spoiled by her second husband De Vries, who has no self criticism. 5. The scene in the church was one of the baddest moments in Dutch movie history. 6. Make your own opinion about Monique as a doctor. I think if she was a real doctor, she should be suspended.
