It's a mild crowd pleaser for people who are exhausted by blockbusters.

I didn’t really have many expectations going into the movie (good or bad), but I actually really enjoyed it. I really liked the characters and the banter between them.

There are moments that feel comical, some horrific, and some downright inspiring but the tonal shifts hardly matter as the end results come to a film that's perfect for this time.

This was my first show ever and it hooked me up for binge watching TV shows!! According to me... the best show on planet earth (tied with the Game of Thrones for sure)... But I tend to give DaVinci's Demons the upper hand here just because I watched it first!!Amazing writing.. amazing plot.. amazing characters (be it Tom Riley, Laura Haddock or Blake Ritson)... Special mention for the acting of Leo by Tom Riley... One hell of a performance... One of the best I have seen!!The first two seasons involve a combination of fictional world along with the reality world.. and that's where the show wins your hearts!! The third and the final show is not as good as compared to the first two.. but is a gem in itself!! Sad that the show wasn't renewed for yet another season, but all in all the best show on planet earth!!

I know there's a lot of hate for this series. For me, I took it as a fun historical fiction, and it fulfilled that role to my satisfaction. The actors playing DaVinci and especially Riario were particularly strong, and again I realize that is controversial. The only casting decision I really didn't like was that of the part of Nico. Even historical fiction should have some integrity to to historical person, and Eros Vlahos was a bad choice. Not that he is a bad actor, but Machiavelli is history's master manipulator of,power, who wrote a book on the brutal exercise of power for Lorenzo. This Nico never rises to that kind of man.None the less, all faults withstanding, if I let my mind go into neutral I found the series to be a ripping good yarn.

As long as you turn your brain off, the show is watchable, but nothing more. The main problem for me is not that the show doesn't care about being historically accurate at all (although I admit, the guards dressed as Spanish civil guards of the 20th century, the flying pigeon and Isabelle of Castile wearing a comb were way too much for me), the problem is that they try to mix some fun, lighthearted scenes with Leonardo creating and inventing wonderful things with dark, gritty scenes about politics with Assassin's Creed 2 and it doesn't work. At all.And the result is a show that doesn't quite know what it wants to be: a fun show about Leonardo solving mysteries and problems using his brains and imagination like BBC's Sherlock? a show about the cut-throat politics of Italy during the Renaissance like The Borgias? a magical show about mystical orders full of secret knowledge like BBC's Merlin? I don't think even the creators knew. So, if you want just something to watch and not think, this show is alright. But if you want a good TV show, with interesting plots and characters, this show is a hard no.

Viewers are far more intelligent today and certainly more accepting of same sex relationships. To portray davinci having a romantic relationship with a female when it is well documented that his preference was men shows ignorance of the writers, director and producers. Shameful that these people couldn't grow a spine and do justice to his life instead played safe using the boring Hollywood script. It gets a 1for this reason. There was an opportunity to really make this series different to your normal humdrum conservative TV shows. We are talking about a man who was creative, well regarded for his genius and someone who thought outside the box. Could have given him at least that respect when creating the series.
