Cuckoo Audience Reviews

NekoHomey Purely Joyful Movie!
Greenes Please don't spend money on this.
SoftInloveRox Horrible, fascist and poorly acted
Hadrina The movie's neither hopeful in contrived ways, nor hopeless in different contrived ways. Somehow it manages to be wonderful
rejislam This is a hidden gem from the BBC. It is easy to watch with some very random bizarre and well thought out plots. There was a change in cast of some of the main characters in the show after season 1 which I think was for the best as it only gets better. Best to read as little about it and start watching.
clintstevens I wondered why a show was named after the main character since he (Andy Samberg) disappeared after season one. After doing a little checking I noticed there was a year gap between season one and two. I assume that Samberg must have had other commitments and couldn't return after the first season. I have never much cared for Andy Samberg but this role was tailor-made for him. He plays a dim-witted hippie type who's personality drives his father-in-law batty. I rarely laugh out loud but 'Cuckoo' made me chuckle more than once. That being said, seasons two and three were nowhere nearly as funny. The family still has their funny moments, but Taylor Lautner is horrid. His role as Cuckoo's son is not at all funny and I couldn't help but think how much better it would have been if Andy Samberg had continued his role. I find it interesting how the reviews are divided; some hated season one but loved seasons two and three and vice-versa. Put me down for one of the viewers who preferred the first season.
Roberta Parry On the advice of a couple of reviews, I watched beyond episode 2 and agree that it is all upwards from the pilot. I got a few chuckles and the plot progressed. I desperately wanted to rate this show higher because of one negative rating regarding Adam Samberg's Semitic background. I saw a few episodes of Brooklyn99 and while I enjoyed it I found that it was the supporting cast and his foil to that that I liked and here there just isn't such a foil. Greg Davis always made me laugh in the Inbetweeners and I delight in spotting him in other shows, but I don't honestly think he or Samberg can carry a show and the script isn't quite strong enough to pull it off. For comparison I found it slightly less funny than season 2 of Todd Margaret - I chuckled at it on Netflix but probably wouldn't buy it or watch it again
simon3818 If this is a comedy and the comedy of the future GOD HELP US!! I watched this as i like Greg Davies in stand up, Mock the Week and Inbetweeners and gave this a go. 5 episodes in and I'm still waiting for something to be funny. Cuckoo is someone i would happily chuck from a 4 storey building and then disown my daughter for wasting her gap year a, in the USA and b, marrying this idiot and bringing him back to the UK let alone home.Comedies nowadays are making the actual comedy hard to find with this straight lace genre they are producing. Sod that and go back to writing proper situations and gags for the actors to do and the audience to laugh at.If it gets a second series - well there is no hope for anyone.
