Claws Audience Reviews

2hotFeature one of my absolute favorites!
Doomtomylo a film so unique, intoxicating and bizarre that it not only demands another viewing, but is also forgivable as a satirical comedy where the jokes eventually take the back seat.
Robert Joyner The plot isn't so bad, but the pace of storytelling is too slow which makes people bored. Certain moments are so obvious and unnecessary for the main plot. I would've fast-forwarded those moments if it was an online streaming. The ending looks like implying a sequel, not sure if this movie will get one
Edwin The storyline feels a little thin and moth-eaten in parts but this sequel is plenty of fun.
kaystevel I've come to this series a little late as, living in the UK, myself and my Housemates didn't discover it until just a couple of weeks after Series 2 had started airing. We knew absolutely nothing about this before we started watching, but it had us guffawing within minutes and utterly captivated by the end of the first episode! I wouldn't necessarily have expected the Bonkers storytelling and the collection of (very) left-field characters here to necessarily work in what is essentially quite a dark, violent drama - but, you know what? They absolutely do and once you fall in love with the characters (which happens almost immediately), then they can do and say pretty much anything, no matter how crazy and I accept it without question!I'm not daft and of course I'm fully aware that there are things that don't make any sense, but I just don't care - and neither does the show! And that's what I find so refreshing and enjoyable about it. A favourite Sci-Fi of mine from (Jeez, was it nearly 20 years ago?) called Farscape lit up the screen for me and the crazy situations and characters were new and fresh - and "Claws" feels exactly the same - hopefully the writers and production team take my comparison with Farscape as a compliment because it's sincerely meant! The cast are flawless and I'll admit that I had not seen Niecy Nash in anything previously, but I adore her. I have to say, though that what sold the first episode for me was seeing Carrie Preston in another regular role after True Blood. Her performance as Elsbeth Tascioni in The Good Wife was always a show stealer and she's subsequently cornered the market in "kooky", but I love the fact that the production didn't limit her to simply a 'mad, but harmless' background character and she gets to show her dark side, which is frankly astonishing to watch.I also can't write this and not mention Judy Reyes as Quiet Ann - again, a familiar face from Scrubs and Devious Maids, but she just blows you away here and manages to give such dignity to the character. Also stand-outs for me are Dean Norris as Clay 'Uncle Daddy' - just how dangerous and psychotic can a coked-up Bisexual Gangster with a Wife and a Gay Transgender piece-on-the-side be? HA! And Norris savours every snorting, air-brushed pinky moment! PLUS Harold Perrineau as Desna's special-needs Brother Dean - I love his moments of just speaking what's on his mind, but it's his set-piece in She-She's club in Season 2 which gets my vote for sustained "Laugh-out-loud-til-it-hurts" moment! And how does stay so young-looking?! Essentially, he hasn't changed since the final Matrix episode - again, not far off 20 years ago. Can't believe I've gotta wait months now for Season 3 - it can't come quick enough!!!
Trina Lovinglyfe Wilson Great show. Every actress/actor plays their role perfectly. Season 2 is as good if not better than 1.
thom-gillespie The set up took about 3 episodes and then it launched. Dean was a bit annoying but he has developed into a far more interesting and believable character as an adult on the spectrum. 'The Girls' are all good with Dez the strongest but the real reason to watch is probably Roller a truly bizarre character, sort of Eminem if he did weights and steroids. Uncle Daddy is maybe the weakest character but this might be because I can't get the DEA character he played in Breaking Bad out of my mind. In my mind Uncle Daddy causes cognitive dissonance.Very watchable.
Danielle White-Mangum I love this show because it is quirky and crazy. And the characters grows on you they all got there nutty ways. And Uncle Daddy he a mess with them chains on. The guy playing the autism brother is great. The story behind this is funny as heck. I don't know who wouldn't like it people that have no life or sex life .
