There's a more than satisfactory amount of boom-boom in the movie's trim running time.

When "Chocolate News" premiered on Comedy Central in the fall of 2008, I expected this show to be a "Daily Show",or "Colbert Report",or sort of like "60 Minutes" tailored to an African-American audience like they have on either BET(Black Entertainment Television)or another source like "Tavis Smiley" or to an extent "Tony Brown's Journal". but instead this show turned out to be one of the biggest mistakes Comedy Central ever made not to mention making it a huge colossal failure in the history of the cable network. And it shows in some of the episodes.Instead,"Chocolate News" itself was an insult and furthermore an embarrassment to minorities in general. This show turned out to be nothing but offensive jokes that were extremely brutal and also to point out offensive depictions of stereotyping African-Americans. They said that this show drew parallels to "Chappelle's Show",and whoever said that it was they were lying through there teeth to gain ratings which proved this show was off the air with the quickness. What made Dave Chappelle's comedy series worked and what made it explicably funny was because it talked about stereotypes in just about every episode, and what made Chappelle's Show stand out was some of the sketches were hilarious and downright funny because of the comedy. Yes,some of the sketches on Chappelle's Show were really racist, and it was stereotyping minorities, but think about the episodes where the sketches of Rick James(the real Rick James was featured in an episode of Chappelle's Show titled "Charlie Murphy's real Hollywood Stories"),and poking fun of Prince became household catch phrases almost overnight and made Dave Chappelle that undisputed king of comedy. It was the reason why Chappelle's Show went to top of the ratings at Comedy Central and garnered a huge audience during its three seasons on the air."Chocolate News" is nowhere near the success of Chappelle's Show. No wonder it sucks. This show however tries to get a few "hars" from constant and unending racist jokes about African-Americans is insulting but rehashing the same stereotyping jokes was not only repulsive but incredibly stupid. What actor and star David Alan Grier said in the premiere episode about the President Elect Barack Obama was the straw that broke the camel's back, but his own career was put in jeopardy. This was a show that took all the tongue and cheek humor of Richard Pryor, not to mention Redd Foxx and Rudy Ray Moore to sheer embarrassment and toss it down the toilet. Not to mention other famous African-Americans was an insult. The program itself including poking fun while adding racist jokes of the KKK(which were revolting)while making everyone else look like a total idiot(including its star David Alan Grier). "Chocolate News" was another one of those black shows that shows blacks putting down there own people and taking two steps back from racial equality. The writers of this show just strive to be on the hate meter on everyone who isn't black or who isn't part of the agenda. David Alan Grier(of "In Living Color" fame)was being a hate puppet for the MAN,while losing his own blackness to such ignorant crap. From the previous comment,I totally agree....Dave,you're better than this....it ruined your career. Not to mention dragging former In Living Color alumni Tommy Davidson and Kim Wayans(who were special guest stars in several episodes) to this mess. And putting former MAD-TV alumnus Jordan Peele to your status of doom. Its no wonder it didn't last long. But November of 2008,several groups wanted it off the air due to the comments about minorities due to the show.Created by David Alan Grier, who also served as executive producer of this series along with producers Fax Bahr(of MAD-TV fame),and Pete Aronson(of Chappelle's Show),"Chocolate News" produced 13 episodes for Comedy Central from October 15,2008 until December 31,2008. The series was yanked off the air on New Year's Eve in 2008 after 13 episodes. The show never made it into its second season. If this show or if Comedy Central kept it on the air,we would have seen more ignorant and the unexpected comments coming from the mouth of David Alan Grier.

i thought this show was hysterical.yes,it is offensive, crude and vulgar, but so what.the show does seem to make fun of white people(which i happen to be)but that's exactly what it is--fun.people need to get over themselves and stop being so uptight.besides, a lot of the jokes pretty much reflect how many white people behave.if you can't take a joke, then turn off all your TVs and hide yourself in a cave.i don't think the jokes are cruel or mean, either.anyway,i laughed my butt of so much i had tears running down my eyes.David Alan Grier is the star of the show and plays most of the characters.i think he's very funny.i'm gonna try and catch this show every time it's on.it's the only show on The Comedy Network(here in Canada)which i have actually found worth watching. 10/10

At first I expected the show to be a "Daily Show" or "Colbert Report" tailored to an African American audience like BET. But instead, the show turned out to be nothing but racist jokes and offensive depictions of races. Some defend it drawing parallels to the Chapel Show, but that show was funny not because it talked about stereotypes every episode, it was funny because it had comedy. Some of Chapels sketches were racist, but think of the Rick James and Prince sketches that became house hold catch phrases over night. This show however tries to get a few "hars" from constant and unending black jokes and rehashing of stereo types. If the comedy was not focused so much on race and deviated from its constant race humor, it would not be a bad show.

Take all the tongue & cheek humor of Richard Pryor and throw it in the toilet. This program has no problem with reversing the racist jokes of the KKK (which are revolting) and make everyone else look like a total idiot... taking two steps back from racial equality.Dave Chapelle managed to make outrageous sketches on Comedy Central making fun of *everyone*, the writers of this show just strive to hate everyone who isn't black.I dream of a day where people can just be people... and being Irish, my people were slaves too... so GET OVER IT.David, you're better than this... you're just being a HATE puppet.
