Game is manifold. It is thing that play in home, outside. VR and App are popular recently. I experienced VR last week. That's amazing. Thus game itself always keep on evolving. Unless companies go into bankruptcy. Incidentally, I don't like Mobile game. I have never played it before. I always have and I always will. Money is precious. Don't waste your time. Then, I talk Btooom! since now. Protagonist of this show is Ryouta Sakamoto. Ryouta is high level online player, and He is what you call "NEET". I hate NEET, but considering his cruel past, really sympathize with him. One day, when Ryouta woke up, he was in uninhabited island. He get into trouble there. He makes full use of inherent skill, bomb (BIM), radar, he need to survive this game. Another participant, Himiko. She is heroine of this show. She also have tragic past and circumstance as same as Ryouta. At first two persons don't act together, but they made them start to trust each other in a certain event.Story is simple than you would think. Kill and Kill. That's all. However, depiction of characters are wonderfully realistic (a bit of Sci-fi elements). Did I ever tell you the definition of life? Get busy living, or get busy dying. They must eat and fight to live. At times someone fall into madness. My point is that you can know human's real nature through this show.Characters are some mature adults. Ryouta is smart and intelligent. Himiko have not special skill, but she is very delicate. One of participant, Kousuke Kira is freaking cool child character. Though his turn never many, he will make an intense impact you. Promise also psychological battle with Ryouta and Kousuke. Not simply throw bombs each other. Nobutaka Oda and Hidemi Kinoshita are formidable pair. Spotlight of this show could say. I can't write about other characters because it is danger, but they are quite twisted. The Animation is plainly beautiful. Especially background, sunlight, forest, animals. Explosion effect is flashy and fresh. It use different organized depending on the situation. Art style is supremely likable. Each character has my type. Especially Himiko's design is awesome. Includes a little sexual content, but I think that opinions are divided. There is person that not be concerned about at all, or there is person that it is say dirty and unnecessary. I'm the former.Soundtrack is not impressive. It doesn't match some scenes. But It is basically not break atmospheres. Voice acting is solid. I tasted feeling like dub of Movie. I wrote it by Japanese style. OP and ED songs are best of this show. OP song is rock, stylish, and want to listen it over and over again. I love this song so much! Actually, I listened to full version of OP song in Youtube's official music video before I watch this show. No harm in trying listen. ED song is quiet melody about Himiko's sentiment. You will want to listen to it in regularly. Lyrics also got to the point of story. Very polite. Great Job, Nano and May'n.I express weak points from now on. First of all, story's progress is very slow. Somewhat takes time for begin to get interesting. Secondly, a certain character is ugly and mean bastard. I hate this character. Trademarks are skinhead and glasses. Finally, the story is unfinished. It depends on my interpretation is ended beautifully, but as I thought indigestion. On the whole, this show is drastically good. Individualistic and so many flaws, but still entertaining. First I avoided this show because I dislike protagonist's setting, but when I start watching, I was immersed before I knew it. This show also not for everyone. But if you love products like Bomberman, Far Cry 3, Lost, The Hunger Games, then you will enjoy.I watched this show by Rakuten TV (Japanese video distribution site). And I bought Blu-ray Complete Collection after a few days. The reason is that I love this show and I want 2nd season. There is no help for it now, but I did my best as much as possible. Although it seems some people have already given up, I'm still hoping.NO PAIN, NO GAME. THE CURTAIN RISES OF KILLING WITH A BOMB PLAY.

What a disaster, the anime bored me to hell. The only decent stuff about it is the animation, rest all is terrible. The plot of survival in a deserted island is an old one, so no originality. I did like the concept of using bombs as weapons but with no explanation on the bombs & little use of strategy or fights the concept is defeated. The anime is without a background story of why this is happening and frankly doesn't have an idea of where it wants to go. Normally in a survival anime we are supposed to root for a character but in this anime it's not possible as everyone got a negative vibe about them. The main protagonist is a NEET who hits his step dad and throws things on his mother during flashbacks and now when he is in the island he is supposed to be a nice guy!!! Most of the characterization is super weak and boring. This was suppose to be a thriller anime with tons of action but is sadly missing both. Also the anime was dropped midway without conclusion so its total waste of time.

Ryota Sakamoto is one of the best players of the online game 'Btooom!' which involves players fighting with small bombs to achieve their objective. Then one day Ryota wakes to find himself on a remote Pacific island with a satchel containing eight of the bombs from the game... he is now playing for real! Over the course of the opening episodes he has to fight some other players and ends up teamed with Hamiko, a girl who unbeknownst to him had played the game alongside him on line and Kiyoshi Taira, an older man who also played the game. During this time we learn that there are a variety of different bomb types and players can only use other people's bombs if that person is dead, everybody also has a chip implanted in their left hand that works as a radar to spot other players and if a player collects eight such chips they will be taken off the island... which of course gives everybody a motive to kill and a reason not to trust anybody. This may seem like just another fighting-anime but it is much more than that; there is a good amount of action and the tension is always high but this is more about how the characters behave and how the game makes trust difficult. Ryoka and Hamiko make good protagonists; they are obviously skilled at the game but they aren't that much better than other players so it frequently looks as if they could be hurt. The premise itself isn't that different to 'Battle Royale' but the execution is different and the fact that players need eight chips to get off the island rather than needing everybody else to die means it is more believable that they would form teams... even if those teams are fragile. The fact that they are fighting with a variety of bombs is original and when they detonate it is well animated. There is a small amount of fan-service but it isn't excessive enough to be off putting. The series is only twelve episodes long but the final episode clearly leaves things open for a second season... and I'm sure most people who watched this will be hoping for more; I know I do.These comments are based on watching the series in Japanese with English subtitles. At the time I write this the series can be watched legally on Crunchyroll.

I watch a lot of anime, when I mean a lot I can proudly say I have covered about 50 different series at the least. This one ranks up there, with the suspense, difficulty and tactical awareness of the game, and the whole bringing out the crazy in normal people plot. A must watch. I rate this on similar lines as death note, dead man wonderland, Mirai Nikki, high school of the dead just to name a few.If you are into anime series that constantly keep you at the edge and do have a sense of realism and plausibility all through the story or 'world' that has been created, then this is for you. If in turn you like more fantasy heroic idol worshiping anime's as bleach and naruto or one piece, then you should look else where because this is some serious stuff.
