This show is amazing. Its unpredictable, has great performances, battlescene on par with game of thrones and the best portrayal of pirates in any medium ive seen. Its criminally underrated, so please do yourself a favour and watch it. First season might be a little slow compared to the rest.

Yeah, you read that right!Black Sails is for everyone. If you like period dramas, you'll like it. If you like adventure, you'll love it and if you're into pirates like me, you'll drool over it. It is one of the most underrated TV shows ever. Apparently, because it does not have HBO's backing. Despite that, the show has be great.One of the many things I love about this show is how the show runners have stuck with the actual story-line despite 4 lengthy seasons. The cast always seemed perfectly in character and in sync with their roles.It's lovely to see how the show pictures a pirate utopia but also shows a different side to it. How alliances are made and broken and the way pirate life is depicted is a wonder and kudos to the perfect writing. All in all, I think everyone should give it a go.

If you are expecting a high quality show, with high production and good action this is something to recommend. Everything that happens in the show you are drawn too, the building for every character is amazing and the plot is really well done. Sometimes it could lose it's red thread (last season mostly) where I lost myself a little bit. Otherwise it is one of the best series I have seen. The show really nailed the whole pirates genre, on how they might have been during their time and things they had to do to make it. To put it lightly i would say it could be "Game of Thrones" the pirate version, haha.I love thing show and I would recommend in to everyone who really love adventure, drama and personalization in characters in a show.
