Matialth Good concept, poorly executed.
Tedfoldol everything you have heard about this movie is true.
Comwayon A Disappointing Continuation
Baseshment I like movies that are aware of what they are selling... without [any] greater aspirations than to make people laugh and that's it.
l_fc_gerrard This is a highly understated comedy show that channel 4 stupidly cancelled. It is by far the greatest show. It was hilarious and had was scripted very well with brilliant characters and a unique scenery to other shows. Won't say too much but it is very entertaining and I absolutely loved it. I don't think there will be another show like it, apart from the inbetweeners. But that has its differences too. Will just have to watch the 2 series again and again unfortunately :( I would definitely recommend watching it. Never really get bored of watching it! Barry is great and so are the other characters. It is a complete hit.
charlieep96 I saw the debut trailer for this about three weeks before it was aired on E4 and I have to say it is by far the best television series I've ever seen. It has a hilarious range of characters including sex-crazed Scottish guy, a stoner who's useless with girls and an Indian guy who's trying to move on from his rejection from his ex. The episodes are hilarious and the storyline is well written. To all comedy fans this is the TV show for you. And the kids they look after are hilarious and there's many great story lines that keep you entertained. Brilliant acting and a well-built show, each episode delivers with many laughs and it's a feel-good comedy drama. Three British guys going to summer camp? Amazing! Please check this show out as it is in my opinion very un-noticed and can be more successful if more people actually check it out!
watson-james-902-282983 I came very close to writing it off as a strange series. But I liked the idea of British lads in America - and it did well to stay in the grey zone between the whole "War of Independence/Special Relationship" thing that normally comes with Anglo-American shows like this. Perhaps if they'd focused just a little more on that, it would've been brilliant.Generally, I liked the premise - a sex-crazed Scottish lad, a computer-obsessed virgin and a heartbroken sleep walker at a camp full of hot girls and jocks, and yet saddled with the most unpopular bunk in the entire camp. On the downside, it did tend to focus a little too much on the social hierarchy of the camp - so much so that as Barry and Kimberly kiss in front of Jake, he resorts to stating outright that jocks are meant to date hot girls. It did, however, amuse me a great deal to see the attractive girls going to prom with the fat kids, leaving the jocks dateless - a role-reversal that definitely deserves an award. But my personal favourite scene was Flynn intimidating Jake and his jock cabin - giving the Americans a taste of having to deal with an angry Glaswegian is pure comedy!
Geronimo2900 I think a lot of people wrote this off straight away from the trailer on E4 - I was nearly one of them. It looked like it was going to be a pretty empty drama - British guys going after hot girls; kind of 90210 with a couple of English guys and a Scot. I gave it a go though and stuck with it through the whole series and I'm glad I did. The dynamic between the core three works very nicely and it is fun to watch. There is a lot more humour than I thought and it is so much the better for it. It actually seems to get a little too caught up in its own plot sometimes - the best bits are when the characters are all chatting to each other. Barry stands out particularly as a likable character as the joker of the group. John Dagleish plays him extremely well; it doesn't ever feel like he is acting and he becomes very identifiable with as a result. Most of the cast are very good - a few characters are a little too stereotypical and thus dull, but overall the show does very well to be genuinely entertaining with enough drama to keep the show moving but enough comedy to make it very fun to watch. I'd say the first episode was the weakest, too, with a little too much emphasis on toilet humour, but after that its far more about the group dynamic and improves from there.
