A waste of 90 minutes of my life

if their story seems completely bonkers, almost like a feverish work of fiction, you ain't heard nothing yet.

Unshakable, witty and deeply felt, the film will be paying emotional dividends for a long, long time.

This is a dark and sometimes deeply uncomfortable drama

My childhood memories from Battlestar Galactica have been still present.
A friend told already with positive personal reviews recently the "must-see" mini series and so I started my way with commander Adama and human and allein forms of life in this great four season long search for the secret planet EARTH!
It's a joy to watch! Great wonderful work!

Just watched the mini series, and now series one, when the fleet were continually jumping every 33 minutes, by the end I was nearly as tired as them. Thank God that ended for no apparent reason! The continuity seems a bit off, the storyline a bit bit ad hoc; and although I'm mildly entertained, there is one thing that is really doing my noodle in; here goes!!! An alien, or cyborg (ai) has just obliterated the human race (fair enough), the remaining population are space hopping, evading annihilation, no resources, and pretty much screwed on every level (so far so good). Why then with an approximate fleet population of around 50,000 war weary survivors, does the new president of these floating vagabonds keep giving press conferences to an audience of hungry journalists, that would put a modern day media frenzy to shame. Who are they writing for, why are the taking pictures, and on which planet are they printing this damn paper!!!
Ludicrous!

Problem with IMDb reviews is that they go for the whole show, not the individual seasons. This show starts really good. I'd give it a 8 or 9. Then it all slowly dwindles down into quite incoherent mess and ends up with a disappointing finale with a bit of Lost syndrome. It's overall worth watching but it will leave you with a bitter taste at the end.

The good: 1) the whole story (much better than the single episode); 2) the deepness & introspection; 3) the philosophy and spirituality; 4) the analysis of human psychology. 5) the best characters are "Cylons" or secondary. The bad: 1) main characters have a weak and overrated personality: both Adama (their figures are emphasized), Kara (she seems a 4 years old child making the best pilot), Roslin (she has to die for a cancer since the beginning for 4 seasons: superwoman), Baltar initially interesting becomes a standard; although their limits it seems the main characters have to survive to themselves because the plot provide it, while secondary characters vanishes so easily), other characters are out of context (funny the scene where Roslin tries to let Baltar to die (finally) but then she decide to save him and just after accuse him to be a crook: "Baltar cannot die until the end of the series and beyond" :D ); 2) common dialogues: mature people talk and pose as children in common situations; 3) military corps action is childish (military corps in extreme situations! Absurd! Pilots talk about stupid arguments during their flies and exult after destroying an enemy fighter); 4) repetitiveness of characters for different roles: pilot of viper, body guard, sniper, marine..., ancient linguist (the same character playing more roles; 5) too less actors in a huge ambient; 6) recitation of actors (not all actors play natural the role assigned them other actors are not able in recitation; 7) too much silly moments; 8) battles and numbers of pilot: Cylons are numerical superior far by 1000% so to easy eliminate the fleet (they have destroyed much more easily the 12 colonies). Seasons evaluation:I season: 6 (some episodes are better others worst);II season: 6 (some episodes are better others worst);III season: 8 (some episodes are better others worst);IV season: 9 (some episodes are better others worst). What would be interesting: Admiral Cane stays as admiral until the end fighting the last battle; to underrate Adama figure; to expand actors universe giving it much more relevance; Adama lee dies (after the second episode); description of political and social life , better directing, Earth analysis after the discover of it and study of 13th colony (the viewer understand nothing) after all the wait ("the planet is inhospitable let's go away"). More scientific approach and analysis. This movie appears much more emotional than rational when rationality should matches the events.***SPOILER***the end What happen in the end of the end: the two spiritual entities talks in a modern "earth" where IA machines begin to rise and humanity lies in a more and more material reality depending on egoistic illusions: "what happened before will happen again". So where the fleet landed? The fleet landed the Earth before the fleet met it after its destruction: Kara's code transfers the fleet in another space-time line. Era is considered the first woman of humanity in the Earth so the humanity (in the earth) originates from Cylons: all humans are Cylons, which are Clones able in reproduction. The final dialogue unveils that humans and Clones of humans are only manipulated puppets in a material world directed by the "ruler of this world", so that "what happened will happen again" in that reality. The two entities are demons able to manipulate humans by human weaknesses so to get the prearranged path.
