More Review
Robert Joyner The plot isn't so bad, but the pace of storytelling is too slow which makes people bored. Certain moments are so obvious and unnecessary for the main plot. I would've fast-forwarded those moments if it was an online streaming. The ending looks like implying a sequel, not sure if this movie will get one
Lidia Draper Great example of an old-fashioned, pure-at-heart escapist event movie that doesn't pretend to be anything that it's not and has boat loads of fun being its own ludicrous self.
Marva-nova Amazing worth wacthing. So good. Biased but well made with many good points.
Aspen Orson There is definitely an excellent idea hidden in the background of the film. Unfortunately, it's difficult to find it.
chasityhubbardsassy When it comes to picking favorites, it's a toss up between Shadow and Mad Sweeney.
supermalwina I'm tired of tv shows claiming to be adaptations of books and then having nothing to do with them aside from the names of the characters...
viralbheda19-705-7781 The Good: A stunning title sequence, sublime aesthetic, and powerful themes. The Bad: The show is riddled with terrible dialogue, boring sub-plots, and an overdependence on (cringeworthy) CGI & post-production, all of which make for a tedious viewing experience. Another problem is the genre - magical realism - if (literally) anything can happen in the show without any explanation, there isn't a single reason left to care about the show or its characters. My biggest takeaway from this show is that magical realism is a risky genre for television and should not be taken up unless the showrunners know EXACTLY what the fuck they're doing. (Given that the showrunners have left the show, I reckon that to not be the case.)
Daniel Salas Before watching this I thought the show's concept of gods interacting with 21st century people was actually an original and appealing idea. After watching I still think the same, but it wasn't managed in the best way. The plot is slow, I still don't get the point of all the mini-stories showing up at every turn and Shadow seemed like a character that could do much more than he did throughout the first season. On the positive aspects, Wednesday was a funny and well made character, the pilot episode made me feel truly interested to keep watching, regardless the slowness of the plot I'm still looking forward to watch season 2 since the central idea still draws my attention. I hope in the coming season they'll develop some characters and unanswered questions, as well as give a shape to a potentially very interesting plot.
