Adventures of the Little Koala is an anime TV series produced by Tohokushinsha Film Corporation. It aired originally in Japan on TV Tokyo from October 4, 1984 through March 28, 1985, and then aired in the United States on Nickelodeon dubbed in English from June 1, 1987 until April 2, 1993. It also aired in Greece, Italy, France, the United Kingdom, in the Arabic-speaking world and other countries, but its biggest success by far was in the United States on Nickelodeon. Production of the English and French versions of the series was done by the Canadian studio Cinar Films. The storyline revolved around Roo-bear Koala and his friends in a utopian village. The series takes place in Australia, with the village being located in the shadow of The Breadknife. Including different types of animal creatures in the daily life of the village was likely meant to demonstrate the virtues of pluralism and diversity.

Catherine_Grace_Zeh I used to watch this show when I was a little girl. When I think about it, I remember it very well. If you ask me, it was a good show. Two things I remember very well are the opening sequence and theme song. In addition to that, everyone was ideally cast. The writing was also very strong. The performances were top-grade, too. I hope some network brings it back so I can see every episode. Before I wrap this up, I'd like to say that I'll always remember this show in my memory forever, even though I don't think I've seen every episode. Now, in conclusion, if some network ever brings it back, I hope that you catch it one day before it goes off the air for good.
Angel Meiru I have first seen this show on Nickeloden years back, and it definetly caught my attention. It was a cute show, but not sickning cute, which is good. And it deals with things like "Conflict", "Diversity" and "Using your imagination", without being so PC and preachy too! Unlike most stuff in this era. Then at Korean school, I saw the ORIGINAL Korean dialogue version of it, and I still fell in love with it. I like the Korean dialogue alot more and the soundtrack seems more upbeat and catchy. But either way, it is reccomended, no matter if it is in English, Korean or Japanese.
renaldo and clara I remember that as a kid I didn't admit to watching this, probably because I was already 7 when it had just come out and thought it was for ages toddler to 5 ys. or the agegroup defined today as the "Nick Jr. crowd". Although this was the case, there were themes aimed at older children, themes preschoolers wouldn't have understood. Like both Rubear's and the troublemaker's (forget his name)longstanding crush on that other female koala Betty, and one episode I remember clearly, when that troublemaker called the female penguin's character chubby and she started running and became anorexic and passed out. Weather-the wise grown-up(cat?) who always hid his mouth with a scarf (and always had a little pet squirrel on his shoulder)used a metaphor of red balloons-blowing one up halfway and the other all the way, and asked the girl penguin which one looked nicer..that episode really stuck out... ....Which brings me to Weather. His name was Weather, though he didn't talk about the weather, just gave a lot of great advice. As weird as it sounds I've always had a crush on Weather and think his character should be involved in a spinoff of some sort!... Finally, this show marks when I first noticed the dramatic power of animation ...that it could be drawn and directed to convey emotion..it introduced me to animae, which I later became very fond of. I believe <The Adventures of the Little Koala> was also the introduction for many children of my age in the United States to Asian animation.
dootuss I can't believe I'm the only one who remembers this show! It used to be on Nickelodeon back in the day during the network's good old days. It was about this koala named Roo bear who would go on all these adventures with his friends or family. There was an assortment of characters mainly bunny rabbits, a walrus, a bear i think, and even an old timer who knew what the weather would be like the next day. Pure classic. This show was one of the many shows that began the Nickelodeon block Nick Jr. back in the 1980's. They should bring this one back for the little ones.
