Instead, you get a movie that's enjoyable enough, but leaves you feeling like it could have been much, much more.

I wanted to like it more than I actually did... But much of the humor totally escaped me and I walked out only mildly impressed.

Story: It's very simple but honestly that is fine.

So, they are driving for like 12 hours straight, enough for the sun to go down and come back up again. And be midday. I don't know about anyone else, but I have to pee at least every 2 hours. Do you think they took their pee breaks together? Anyway, this was an awful movie. There were obviously other cars on the road and houses / city lights at many points in the movie. No place other than maybe Alaska would be this remote to drive for hours on end with no human life. A complete waste of my time and I don't often feel that way. I always try to find the good in movies.

You can read all these reviews, but nothing can prepare you for just how terrible this movie is. It becomes painfully evident that all driving scenes are shot on the same quarter mile stretch of road. Some how, SOME HOW, a heavy wrecker is able to keep up with a model year Mustang. And worst of all, you can't stop watching it.

Have an appreciation for thrillers/horrors and no matter how derivative it looked and sounded there was something about 'Wrecker's' idea that sparked some interest. Also curiosity as to whether it was as bad as has been said, as part of my viewing of low-budget films every now and then for curiosity's sake. After seeing 'Wrecker', do have to agree that it is that bad. And that it is cheaply derivative of superior films (i.e. 'Duel') is actually the least of its problems. It doesn't even have a promising opening scene, nothing unsettling or suspenseful and bordering on the silly, atmospheric set design (the rest of the production values are just too amateurish to make me remotely appreciate it) or a watchable actor in a small role trying to do something with it to make things better. 'Wrecker's' least bad asset is the truck. Even that can't be properly considered a redeeming quality when its scenes that it featured in are so tension-free and ridiculous and when the film looks as slipshod as it does. Like a few low budget films seen recently, everything about the story execution feels stale and incredibly dull. Even worse is that it's often confused and then it's too obvious to be surprising or unsettling, too dull to be tense or suspenseful, too cheesy to be fun and too ridiculous to be thrilling. The ending was ridiculously overblown to an embarrassing degree. 'Wrecker' is slipshod in both editing and camera work that one feels dizzy and confused watching it. The dialogue tends to be awkward, the direction flat and the less said about the acting (Anna Hutchison being the worst) the better. Overall, a wreck. 1/10 Bethany Cox

I just laugh at everyone bitching about this movie being a knock off of The Duel. Who cares? No one is interested in your 1 out of 10 reviews! I sure as shit ain't going to listen to your bitchass moaning and crying!! I'll watch it and make up my own mind. Everyone just wants to suck Spielberg's dick and go running to him like little girls! It's a decent movie if you're into outdoors/open road types of thrillers!
