Although I seem to have had higher expectations than I thought, the movie is super entertaining.

This film is so real. It treats its characters with so much care and sensitivity.

One of the worst ways to make a cult movie is to set out to make a cult movie.

This short film was made five years ago and runs for slightly over 5 minutes. You immediately recognize Academy Award nominee Don Hertzfeldt's animation style in this one. A guy tries to help his friend in pulling out his aching wisdom teeth. He keeps pulling and pulling and it's apparently a never-ending stitch. However, a surprise waits at the end of the stitch and it has serious consequences especially for the guy with the wisdom tooth. As somebody myself who lost all 4 wisdom teeth during one operation, I could feel the protagonist's pain. I am glad my operation wasn't as much of a massacre as this short film. Unfortunately, story-wise it's a bit of a disappointment, maybe also because Hertzfeldt's unique wisdom (no pun intended!) and narration are missing here. One of the filmmaker's weaker works. Not recommended.

The story, like Don Hertzfeldt's other shorts, has an amazingly simple story--and, of course, it's chock full of blood and violence. It begins with a guy complaining about his wisdom teeth making his face puffy. He then asks his friend to help him pull out his stitches--and BAD things happen!! It takes a while, but VERY bad things happen. Trust me on this.If you've seen "Rejected" or some of Hertzfeldt's other mondo-bizarro films, then "Wisdom Teeth" will come as no surprise. It's sick, twisted, strange and darkly funny. His fans with love it...others will probably just be shocked! After all, his animations look as if they were done by a 7th grader and yet have a VERY sick sensibility that will hit unsuspecting viewers like a 2x4 upside your head.I really liked this short but after seeing "Rejected" (probably the ultimate sick Hertzfeldt film), it's hard to top and "Wisdom Teeth" doesn't quite do it. Still, it has what I wanted to see and I hope to see more.

Watching this short is a breath of fresh air in the wonderful world of the formatted and brainwashed MTV culture (if u can call that thing culture). A genius, a bright self-taught who believe in his difference and not in the stereotyped so call art. A non sense footage with improbable and improvised script (I suppose), 5 mn of weirdness and curiosity using fake Scaninavian language, a sheet of white paper, a black pen, a string, probably the best pot of USA and you finish with a wild type ending ! You like non sense and sarcasm ? Freaky enough to keep you high in a so little time... Only for short film diggers or just curious people !
