Wind Audience Reviews

Manthast Absolutely amazing
BallWubba Wow! What a bizarre film! Unfortunately the few funny moments there were were quite overshadowed by it's completely weird and random vibe throughout.
Rio Hayward All of these films share one commonality, that being a kind of emotional center that humanizes a cast of monsters.
Gary The movie's not perfect, but it sticks the landing of its message. It was engaging - thrilling at times - and I personally thought it was a great time.
bob the moo I guess humans will adapt to whatever the conditions are in the region in which they live and in the case of this short film we find ourselves in an incredibly windy area. The short is essentially a comment on how communities around the world adapt to terrible conditions and, although it is not particularly clear, there is a suggestion at the end that other men may often be directly responsible for the hardships that such communities have to adapt to. This sounds like the film will be very preachy and labored but in reality it is not – the point/message is in there if you reach for it, but the film can simply (and best) be enjoyed as just an animation.Watched as such it is an amusing little short as we see the various ways life has adapted to the wind. OK, the first thing to ask is why nobody has built walls and why it appears that everything from drinking in a bar through to taking a shower or getting your haircut occurs outside in the wind, but this is to pick holes rather than just go with it. The various characters go about their sideways lives, with liquid poured sideways into glasses, showers made to go sideways and even people's heads gradually adapting to be the right shape to hold a hat. It is not amazingly smart but it is nicely clever and I found it amusing throughout. As to the message, well, if you want it, it is there but for me it didn't really have enough in there to take much commentary without having to take the final reveal and do a lot of the work yourself. Even without this though it is still an amusing short film with clever examples of the community adapting to the wind and it makes for a short film with a few nice chuckles.
