Willy/Milly Audience Reviews

GarnettTeenage The film was still a fun one that will make you laugh and have you leaving the theater feeling like you just stole something valuable and got away with it.
mraculeated The biggest problem with this movie is it’s a little better than you think it might be, which somehow makes it worse. As in, it takes itself a bit too seriously, which makes most of the movie feel kind of dull.
Sienna-Rose Mclaughlin The movie really just wants to entertain people.
Paynbob It’s fine. It's literally the definition of a fine movie. You’ve seen it before, you know every beat and outcome before the characters even do. Only question is how much escapism you’re looking for.
annevejb I have not come across many transgender stories in feature films. Transamerican and XXY are both fairly serious, reminiscent of the novels of such as Julie Anne Peters. Also, XXY as a subject that is close to transgender rather being solidly part of it. Mrs Doubtfire as definitely not a transgender story, though it is what many understand to be transgender??? Could be that Doubtfire is transgendered without being aware of it or being able to admit it? I find that there are a lot of insidious pressures towards gender change being hidden.Willy Milly, my UK DVD gives Something Special as the title, is not serious. It is strongly in the tradition of male to female fantasy stories, except those typically have the male to female ending up as permanently female. Here the story was written by someone likely born as a male and ends with the female to male happily ending up back as female. The qualities of maleness, crude, cave man, for how Willy is taught fit the genre: It does not line up with how many of the males actually are. Memories of the transition scene in She's The Man (2006), and how most of the males actually are in that story. If Willy Milly had been written by a female to male it would be rather different.I experience the story as really okay. Fun escapist nonsense. My DVD is by Pegasus Entertainment. The only flaw with my disk is image quality. IMDb lists the feature as having been made on 35mm, but the visual quality is poor, as if it originated on video. For me it is worth it because of the story.
ST LOUIS SINNERS PRESENT SCHLOCK-O-RAMA FILM FESTI Very funny lost gem from my youth. I remember seeing this when it came onto TV. I have seen it twice and then forgot all about it for years. Thought about it yesterday and set upon the task of figuring out it's title. Hooray , I found it! I highly recommend this if you come across it in one of it's three titles. Milly's best friend's reaction to her newly grown penis is hilarious.Good family comedy despite somewhat "blue" moments. Yes, the premise is a little far fetched but come on, it's a comedy aimed at young adults. Would buy in a heartbeat when it get's on DVD (hint hint). Seriously, why isn't this on DVD yet? I see on here far less worthy films made by the director and producers re-released.
kitiwiti found an unopened copy of this in a garage sale and it was such an unassuming movie that i fell in love with it after first viewing. mainly cause i related to it so much. I'm not lesbian, but i do want equal treatment.this movie addressed that issue without being too heavy. and you cant help but cringe at the development of the storyline, not because its awful, but because the acting was so real.it didn't have popular actors, except for john glover, who was hilarious, i might say. but the mom was really funny too.it also reminded me a bit of revenge of the nerds. be prepared for an unusual plotted, lines bordering cheesy, not-for-intellectuals type of movie, and you'll like this one.
Ken Adiv This is one of those films i just have to watch again every now and then, because i like it, and because it's damn funny. It tells the story of a girl who wants to be a boy, and by magical means, her wish is granted. Some scenes had me rolling on the floor laughing. This film, besides being a great movie, also deals with some important teen issues in a very funny way, which i thought was great. One of my favorite feel good movies!10/10
