The first of Nicholas Lambert's "searching" duology. Vie tells the tale of Paradise Lost through the eyes of a dying, aged, homeless woman in the hillsides of rural france. She talks about mortality and her desire to find the shawl her dead son was wrapped in when he was born that was lost to her in a mugging when she was 30.
