Instead, you get a movie that's enjoyable enough, but leaves you feeling like it could have been much, much more.

Watch something else. There are very few redeeming qualities to this film.

This is a small, humorous movie in some ways, but it has a huge heart. What a nice experience.

It is a whirlwind of delight --- attractive actors, stunning couture, spectacular sets and outrageous parties.

Anton Groves' short film Waste is a strange film – not so much in terms of its style (although it is that too) but more in terms of what it is trying to do. The film follows a professional waster who is untidy, always late, wastes resources and is generally unkempt. His wasting ways are demonstrated by the monsters (bad habits) he has that are visually represented by colorful monsters in his drawers, toilets etc. The presentation of these monsters at times made me think the film was a promotional one for some Government campaign. Instead however it appears to be about people's "monsters" and how we all have our bad habits or quirks. This only become clear at the end – or well, as clear as it will become – as the female character walks into her own monster; which is a closet filled with pretty things and endless stuff. This point is simple enough but the way the monsters are presented doesn't really make sense and it isn't helped by the final one really looking like a massive vagina – which might have been a comment on the monster being female but this image overrides anything else the film is doing at that moment. Visually the creation of the monsters is clever generally but thematically it doesn't match up and generally the film doesn't have a strong plot or point – it would have been better if it were a very clever promotional film.Worth a look due to the interesting ideas and creations but ultimately it doesn't come together as one would hope.
