Two Tough Guys Audience Reviews

Thehibikiew Not even bad in a good way
Sabah Hensley This is a dark and sometimes deeply uncomfortable drama
Isbel A terrific literary drama and character piece that shows how the process of creating art can be seen differently by those doing it and those looking at it from the outside.
Walter Sloane Mostly, the movie is committed to the value of a good time.
ma-cortes Amusing Spanish comedy in which two good actors as Antonio Resines and Jordi Vilches become involved into improbable , disconcerting adventures . This action comedy contains lots of humor , pursuits and amusement . Fast crazy movie with lot of fun situations , antics , bemusement and funny happenings . This is a buddy movie in which two botcher killers , Paco (Antonio Resines) and Alex (Jordi Vilches) carry out a crime caper . Later on , they are joined by Tatiana (Elena Anaya) , a young whore , a type of woman who shows great love for Alex . In pursuing its objective the losers will face a group of of murderous , a butcher (Rosa Maria Sarda) with dark business and a nasty gangster (Jaime Blanch) . Meanwhile , the motley group takes on difficulties and dangers . As they get mix in kidnapping , murders , nutty deeds and many other things ; nothing more than a series of coincidences and twists of fate . Nothing should be taken at face-value; nothing should be taken seriously . Hilarious as well as wild picture is loaded with noisy action , irony , slapdash , comedy with tongue-in-cheek , bad taste jokes , rapid flash thrilling choreography , funny situations and with a distinctly Spanish sense of humor . Fun comedy with touches of irreverence and full of entertainment , humor and sheer amusement . It deals with a hired killer , now without employment and a young rookie who wishes to learn his deadly job , two born-losers on the brink of despair , both of whom are caught up in trouble when , seeking to take the big hit that denied life , accept the task of carrying out a clandestine operation . This is a slightly funny film with entertaining events , giggles , plot twists and a bunch of very comical roles . The film moves in fits and starts most of which would be desirable , with more traps the viewer resists any kind, and some moments of enjoyment and others quite a few embarrassing . This is a typical Spanish comedy from the 2000s with the usual ingredients such as enjoyable humor topped with a little bit of original touches here and there ; including , kidnappings , pursuits and improbable situations . This title blends action elements with comedy , tongue-in-cheek and intrigue ; so, the tone of the film is light-hearted . My feelings are extremely mixed but I must admit there are things I haven't been able to stop smiling about , the first part is played mostly for laughs but the ending part turned into a action movie plenty of twists and turns . The adventures of the protagonists care so repetitive and the most part results to be rich in absurdities and implausibilities . It turns out to be pleasantly fun that offers no intellectual stimulus whatsoever ; an exercise in pure amusement in which entertainment and fun are guaranteed . Some violence , tortures , hand-slitting , and profanities crop up often enough to help the film zip along throughout the half an hour runtime . Sympathetic performances from Antonio Resines as a veteran hit man and Jordi Vilches as a naive young usually deceived by prostitutes . Agreeable support cast gives good acting such as the notorious Manuel Alexandre , Fele Martínez , Joan Crosas , Jaime Blanch , Mariola Fuentes , Antonio Gamero , Emilio Gavira and Luis Cuenca . Colorful photography with juicy atmosphere by Gonzalo Berridi, deemed to be one of the best Spanish cameraman , he photographed successes such as ¨El Viaje De Carol¨, ¨Amantes Circulo Polar¨ , ¨Ardilla Roja¨ , ¨Camaron¨ and ¨8 Apellidos Vascos¨. Lively and commercial musical score by Alex Martinez including some catching songs in scenes take place at Puticlub . The motion picture was professional and originally made by director/writer Juan Martínez Moreno . He was born in Madrid, living in London and Los Angeles. Worked for 10 years as AD. After two short films, he made this long feature debut with "Two Tough Guys" in 2002, followed by "A Good Man" in 2007. His last movie, "Game Of Werewolves", also titled ¨Attack of the Werewolves" was selected in more than 30 International Film Festivals, and won several awards, including the Audience Award in Fantasia Montreal 2012 and the Critic's Award in Fantasporto 2012 ; plus was much praised by critics as well as public during its European festival . In ¨Dos Tipos Duros¨ he clearly demonstrates sound knowledge of the genre he deconstructs with heartfelt accuracy . Rating : Good . Well worth watching .
manxman-1 As a fan of Antonio Resines, I wanted to like this movie. A talented actor in both comedy and drama, he has to work hard in this one. The most one can say is that the movie is a confused mess that simply cannot make up its mind just what it wants to be. Is it a buddy movie? A comedy? A crime caper? The story is all over the place and is hard to follow. So many disparate elements that fail to come together. Yes, there are a few laughs here and there but the violent aspects quickly demolish these. The story appeared to be thrown together as the film-makers actually made the movie. Nothing is believable and the story quickly wears out its welcome. An unfortunate misfire. Give it a miss.
joan sanchez Not just a funny movie. In fact, after a short intro to meet the characters, it's all action. Nothing is what it seems to, even the most lesser detail comes into work to push the players to run, jump, shot and keep running to breathe one more minute. Not a buddy movie, just action with three top class comedy players and, well more funny that many archetipical shot-and-run productions. Although Antonio Resines is not so known outside Spain, he's a great comedy actor, so he can provide the plot of that special moments that the average 'buddy-movie actor' cannot show to screen. In this film we can see him as a self-defeated man, without hope nor friends, that turns off managing for a few days a gang band to safe a lad and his girlfriend from a very very sadistic killers.Jordi Vilches breaks into the movie with his unforgettable Catalan tone, and reveals himself as the worst enemy of his friends taking them from victory to victory until the final disaster... This player, who was skilled in a circus school rather than an acting class, is able to afford most-demanding scenes and to make them easy. Jordi is a gem to take care for, we will sure hear from him at the highest level.
