An intimate, funny and compelling take on the unique relationship and shared legacy of Tommy John, the chatty Indiana lefty who won nearly 300 Major League games, and Dr. Frank Jobe, the unassuming L.A. Orthopedist who conceived and performed a revolutionary elbow operation on John in 1974.

Tommy and Frank Audience Reviews

Mjeteconer Just perfect...
Comwayon A Disappointing Continuation
Murphy Howard I enjoyed watching this film and would recommend other to give it a try , (as I am) but this movie, although enjoyable to watch due to the better than average acting fails to add anything new to its storyline that is all too familiar to these types of movies.
Sienna-Rose Mclaughlin The movie really just wants to entertain people.
Michael_Elliott 30 for 30 Shorts: Tommy and Frank (2013) Fun entry in the series talks about the relationship between pitcher Tommy John whose career was thought to be over until Dr. Frank Jobe came up with a new operation, which has since been performed on over five-hundred players. The documentary talks about the relationship the two men had before the surgery and obviously after it. I think everyone familiar with baseball knows the story of Tommy John but it was still fun getting to know a few more details about his career leading up to the surgery and then the marvelous second half of his career. It's great to see both men on hand being interviewed and especially hearing from Dr. Jobe who was just recently put into the MLB Hall of Fame. We also get to hear from some of the other players who had this surgery including the second guy who of course came close to having it named after him. All and all this is a fun little episode that baseball fans should enjoy.Episode: B+
