Tiger Tiger follows Dr. Alan Rabinowitz, renowned big cat conservationist, as he travels deep into the primordial landscape of the Sundarbans - a tidal mangrove forest spanning the India-Bangladesh border. Known as one of the most dangerous places on Earth, the Sundarbans is the domain of what may be the largest, wildest remaining tiger population. Only 3,000 tigers remain in the wild throughout Asia, and as Alan journeys through the remote landscape of the Sundarbans, he confronts the treacherous terrain both tiger and man must navigate in their mutual struggle to survive. This may be his last journey; diagnosed with leukemia, Alan must face his own mortality as he races to save one of the world's most charismatic animals from the razor's edge of extinction.

Tiger Tiger Audience Reviews

Grimossfer Clever and entertaining enough to recommend even to members of the 1%
ChanFamous I wanted to like it more than I actually did... But much of the humor totally escaped me and I walked out only mildly impressed.
Kayden This is a dark and sometimes deeply uncomfortable drama
Walter Sloane Mostly, the movie is committed to the value of a good time.
lorigianotj I had the special opportunity at the Dartmouth Hopkins Center to see an advanced screening of Tiger Tiger followed by Q&A with Director George Butler and Writer Caroline Alexander. Tiger Tiger truly mesmerizes the audience from start to finish- leading the audience deep within the Sundarbans mangrove forests bordering India and Bangladesh. Tiger Tiger does not simply explore the world of animal conservation, but tells a human story of struggle waged in the backdrop of social, economic and environmental undercurrents of the fight to protect the endangered tiger species. In Tiger Tiger there are tense moments pregnant with heaviness, created by a rich soundtrack and hauntingly-still camera angles reminiscent of Joseph Conrad's Heart of Darkness; the audience too is searching and seeking alongside the Dr. Rabinowitz. From the sweeping landscapes made possible by innovative drone cinematography, to the almost uncomfortably close visuals of wildlife, to the fiery passions of Dr. Rabinowitz and fellow conservationists and researchers, this film is a jewel.
