Most undeservingly overhyped movie of all time??

Best movie ever!

It's simply great fun, a winsome film and an occasionally over-the-top luxury fantasy that never flags.

All of these films share one commonality, that being a kind of emotional center that humanizes a cast of monsters.

I have three main points to make: (1) An extra star here is for the subject matter being an ongoing and seldom-covered atrocity (as opposed to yet another Holocaust film or somesuch). (2) I dreaded seeing this to be honest, but it turned out to be well, well worth it. Like many of Weisz's projects. (How surprised I would be if SHE turned out to be a shitty person.) (3) This is the sort of "strong female character" I'll wholeheartedly celebrate. Any day. Instead of the posy bullshit so fashionable these days. Just as douchebags come in both sexes and are equally gross, so do genuinely awesome humans like Bolkovac and Weiz. Maybe one day this difference will become easier for us to recognize.

A highly emotional portrayal of the suffering inflicted on a community, not only by the invading aggressors, but by those organizations purportedly sent to help them. A troubling betrayal of trust by those who call themselves friends.Well developed characters, a tense and highly charged storyline and a well written and put together account of this real life human tragedy.Kept me on the edge of my seat, feeling ashamed that we call ourselves civilized. Is this simply the horrors of war, or an inherent belief that we are the better people?

On one side a woman seeking justice on behalf of girls trafficked from Eastern Europe. On the other a huge organization ready to cover up for its men involved with the misdeed. If you consider that the film is based on real events and that the Organization in question is UN you'll understand how you'll feel in the end. After watching the movie I went to check (on Wikipedia) what the actual facts were and it came out that what I saw was pretty close to reality. And this, of course, only heightened the anger. But besides that, this is a very good film, Rachel Weisz plays a great Kathryn Bolkovac with her Nebraskian stubbornness and her maternal comprehension for the victims of human cruelty. The story flows naturally and the attention is kept high all the time.I realized that this was a delicate matter by the fact that the name of the Agency involved, DynCorp was changed (in Democra) on the screen and that UN chief in Bosnia at that time, Mr Jacques Paul Klein, is never mentioned. I also read that some criticism was raised about the violence depicted in the movie. Well, I didn't find anything even remotely excessive in there. But, you know, maybe I'm too tough (eh, eh
).

I've never been a fan of "based on real life" films. I prefer to read this cases, do adequate research and investigations to discuss among my family or friends. Beside, directors tend to go over the line and play with feelings, making fragile minds fall in love with an ideal and avoiding the search for reality. However, this film doesn't play with your emotions, it focuses on the real subject of interest and the performances were outstanding; you can easy relate to Kathryn Bolkovac and the decision she makes. The violence is just the necessary, it's never pushed too far and the direction was very decent. The only complain I might contemplate are the slow and confusing beginning, too much explications.
